00:00Army-Navy is an institution here, man.
00:01It is.
00:02It is.
00:02It's going to be played in Baltimore.
00:04They played it there last year.
00:05But I got to tell you, there's talks potentially about Atlanta in the few.
00:09You can't do that.
00:11What's next?
00:11Ireland?
00:12Come on now.
00:13Indoors?
00:13It's got to be played on grass.
00:15I'm sorry.
00:15They should keep it in the link.
00:18Now, from the series perspective, Army has won six of the last nine.
00:23Navy did pick up this win last year, 31-13.
00:26It was like 16 straight unders.
00:28Then they went into overtime like four years ago.
00:32I was on the over, but I altered it all the way up to like 45.
00:36The kid fumbles on the one-yard line in OT, and it wound up 20-17.
00:41They blew through the total last year as well.
00:44When you look at the 38-and-a-half, I'm not so sure.
00:47I have a strong feel about the 38-and-a-half, but I like Army with the points.
00:51Both teams obviously can run the football, 298 for Navy, 256 for Army,
00:57and two good quarterbacks, Blake Corvath in the passing attack,
01:01averaging 136 for Navy.
01:04Army obviously only 78 with Helms, their quarterback.
01:08But Helms has stepped up.
01:10This Army team went into Manhattan earlier in the year.
01:13They were 17-and-a-half, 18-point dogs against Kansas State.
01:17They won the game outright.
01:18They went toe-to-toe with Tulane.
01:21They went toe-to-toe with some of the better teams on their schedule.
01:24You look at Navy, Navy beat Memphis and USF at the end of the regular season
01:29to get to this point.
01:31Army has six wins.
01:32I like the points here in this matchup.
01:34I think they can match up well, score.
01:36I don't know if we get to the total, but give me Army outright.
01:39Yeah, we'll take a look at that too.
01:40But, Joe, just like the pageantry around the game, the midshipmen line in there,
01:43the cadets come in way before the game an hour early.
01:45The president, who will sit on one side and then go to the other side,
01:49just talk to him before the game.
01:50We'll see if that happens again today.
01:52But also, Joe, one of the things that I love about this game is the uniform
01:56combinations that both of these teams have year to year.
01:57Yeah, so what are they rocking today?
01:59I didn't look at them.
01:59Like, I saw them.
02:00They're nice.
02:00But, like, I went back and, like, because usually to me, Joe,
02:04Navy wins the uniform battle.
02:05Like, I don't know who their designers are on their side,
02:07but they're fantastic.
02:08Like, I went back to 2020 and 2012, my two favorite uniforms for Navy here.
02:12But every year I like to see what they do.
02:13And also, like, the storyline behind the uniforms.
02:16Like, hey, just throw through a graphics machine and AI it and come back out.
02:19Like, it's like, hey, this commemorates the battle in, like, 1879.
02:23Like, they do a lot of really cool stuff with that.
02:24Yeah, they come out.
02:25Like, Navy does have rocking uniforms.
02:28I mean, Army comes out usually with the camo and everything else.
02:32But, you know, Monk and that team are blue-collar.
02:36He's done a really nice job there.
02:38And, again, they step up.
02:39And when you just look at defenses, you know,
02:43that's where I give still the slight edge to Army in this matchup.
02:47But usually they tweet them out, Donnie.
02:49Yeah.
02:50I haven't seen anything.
02:51I have seen them.
02:52They're not as stunning as sometimes they typically are,
02:55but obviously pretty good uniforms as is.
02:57Yeah, pedestrian.
02:57No, they're pretty sharp ones.
02:59It's a 126 meeting between these.
03:02Yes, but I think Navy's uniforms have the 250 on them today, if I'm not.
03:06Really?
03:07Like, on the back of the – I always – the one thing I don't like, though,
03:09is when they put, like, the uniform saying on the back where the nameplate is.
03:13You don't like that?
03:13No, I don't like that too much.
03:14Like, I like when Army-Navy, like, sometimes they'll pop the patches,
03:18like, on their chest with their names.
03:19Like, I think that's really cool stuff that they actually play out
03:21and do that today, Joe.
03:22But if we do look at the total itself, that's always the lightning rod of this game,
03:26isn't it?
03:2638-and-a-half.
03:27Feels like you can just print it between 34-and-a-half to 38-and-a-half.
03:30Why can we never go over?
03:31Now, we are handicappers.
03:32We understand why.
03:33Because the operations on offense are, let's get nine plays,
03:37let's eat up every second we can, and then we might pump the football from the 50.
03:41Yeah, I mean, when you have two run-heavy offenses,
03:45especially with college football now, the clock doesn't stop after a first down.
03:49It only stops after a first down in the final two minutes of the game.
03:54So that game-and-half, so that's what's changed.
03:58And when you have teams that are very disciplined without any penalties as well,
04:02that takes time of possession, and there you go with an under.
04:05And again, we always talk about playing triple option, right?
04:09All right, triple option, when you face it on a short week
04:12or you never faced it before, you could be exposed,
04:15whether it be in the Conference USA, American Athletic, especially these teams.
04:19But these teams work against a triple option every day in practice.
04:25Scout team, backups.
04:26So again, if anybody's equipped to play the triple option, it is Army and Navy.
04:33And that's why you see very close games, rare blowouts in this series.
04:38And both defenses, Donnie, only allowing about four yards per rush.
04:42Army's giving up a buck 43 on the ground.
04:44You have Navy giving up 146.
04:46Army's defense only giving up around 22 points per game.
04:50Not as explosive as they were last year, obviously.
04:54But they could still move the football.
04:56And again, turnovers do matter in this game.
05:00Again, Navy's averaging six yards per carry.
05:03They are the better passing attack.
05:05I like Army, though.
05:06I think they play better third-down defense.
05:08I think they're just a little bit more physical.
05:10I think they pull it out.
