00:00Cheryl Hines opens up about Rift with Larry David over husband's role in Trump Admin.
00:06Actress Cheryl Hines says her decades-long friendship with Curb Your Enthusiasm creator
00:10Larry David has cooled, and she believes politics are to blame. According to Fox News, Hines,
00:17who played David's wife, and later ex-wife, on the HBO series, revealed in an interview
00:22with News Nation that she hasn't spoken to David since the show's 2024 finale.
00:27I think he's mad, because Bobby's in the administration, Hines said, referring to her
00:33husband, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who serves under President Donald
00:39Trump. Hines explained that while she hasn't interacted with David recently, she wouldn't
00:44shy away from seeing him in public. I actually think I would be fine talking to Larry, Hines said.
00:50Somebody asked me, what would happen if you walked into a restaurant and he was there?
00:54I would be happy to see him, and I'd say hi, and we'd talk for a second. She described
01:00their two-decade relationship as professional rather than social. It's not like Larry, and
01:06I used to play pickleball, and we don't now. I would really see him at work or things like
01:11that once in a while, have lunch, but I haven't really been around in LA the same time he has,
01:16so I don't know. Hines acknowledged mixed Hollywood reactions to her husband's role,
01:21saying, yes, I do have a few friends that I know are just very upset by even Bobby being
01:27in the administration. I haven't had any falling outs. I haven't had a moment of somebody storming
01:31out the door.
01:33Cheryl Hines criticized a Hollywood double standard, noting that while many actors openly
01:38expressed political views, she faced judgment simply for being married to Robert F. Kennedy
01:43Jr. She highlighted how friends claim inclusivity yet exclude her due to her husband's political
01:49role, illustrating how personal relationships in Hollywood can be strained by politics and
01:55public service.
