00:00So you ready to give us some scoop on Castle?
00:02Yes, yes I am, Matt.
00:04You know, I just wanted to point out that I'm noticing that you're dressed kind of like Beckett today.
00:10Okay, number one, total coincidence.
00:12Number two, I'm on a much more sensible heel.
00:14Yeah!
00:16Welcome to Spoiler Alert, where we talk about and spoil the shows you're obsessed with.
00:21This week, we reveal our theories for what's in that mysterious folder on Scandal.
00:26Oh my God.
00:26We assessed the first two episodes of Homeland and the first episode of American Horror Story Coven.
00:32And as you just saw, Matt Mitovich shared some quality time with Stana Caddick.
00:37And they did more than just flirt, I understand.
00:40Well, that's a heavy word.
00:41Would that be correct?
00:41That's a loaded word.
00:42So you caught up with her earlier this week.
00:44Well, first of all, Beckett just got fired.
00:46Kind of with no tact from Lisa Edelstein's character.
00:49I mean, she just showed up at the doorstep and said,
00:51I'm here to tell you you're fired.
00:52So that raises a lot of questions.
00:53Can Beckett just go back to her job at the NYPD?
00:56What's next for her and Rick?
00:58What are their living arrangements?
00:59Because he just bought them an apartment in D.C.?
01:00Are the boys at the 12th going to welcome her back?
01:03So we covered a lot of topics.
01:04But what we got here in this little video clip is her talking about going back to the NYPD
01:09and the issue that Casket will have to deal with.
01:13Check it out.
01:13So what's next for Kate career-wise?
01:17Is it not just a matter of her jumping back to the NYPD?
01:20No, because the position is taken and there's some sort of a hiring freeze.
01:27So she doesn't have an open space back in the NYPD and she has to kind of ingratiate herself
01:32back into the good graces of Captain Gates, the boys, everything.
01:36Are there any other issues for Rick and Kate that might keep their relationship from just
01:40coasting for a little bit?
01:42You know, I think one of the issues is Alexis.
01:46And it's not necessarily an issue for Kate, but I think for Castle and Alexis, they're trying
01:53to figure out what does it mean to have another person come into Castle's life.
01:59And Alexis is kind of adjusting to some of that.
02:04Just finding out how to define that relationship and how things will change when there's possibly
02:11a new person in her dad's life.
02:13Interesting.
02:14She's a good egg.
02:15You look really handsome in that clip.
02:17I wasn't in that clip.
02:18Scandal.
02:19I thought it was a great first episode.
02:21Like any concerns there were that the show was going to sort of take a nosedive in quality
02:25or momentum.
02:26Because this is technically its sophomore year.
02:28You know, since season one was just a handful of episodes, this is really a time for any sophomore
02:32slump.
02:33Right.
02:33But I'm not seeing any signs yet.
02:34How many times did Fitz and I sleep together?
02:37Three?
02:38Five?
02:39How many would you be okay with?
02:40I loved that scene with Mellie, Fitz and Olivia.
02:44In the bunker when she pulled the fire alarm?
02:45Two.
02:46Okay.
02:49Fitz and I slept together twice.
02:51It was great where they're negotiating how many nights they slept together in front of
02:54Mellie.
02:55It was just fantastic.
02:56The first time was?
02:57After I was elected, you didn't get the job because we were sleeping together.
03:00Might as well make sure nobody questions that.
03:02That was like nine minutes.
03:03For Scandal?
03:03Yeah.
03:04It's just, you know, bats around scene to scene to scene.
03:07That was a long...
03:08I just love it in general when Olivia lays out a plan, like down to the wardrobe and everything.
03:11You hold hands, Mellie wears a soft color, lavender or light blue.
03:15Right.
03:15She just really thinks it all through.
03:16You just see her at her job and she's really good at it.
03:18Yeah.
03:19What do you think is in the folder, Operation Remington?
03:22Well, this is what's so confusing is from that one scene we got, it seems, you know,
03:27it's about some off-book op that Fitz and Scott Foley's character ran years ago in Iran.
03:34I'm immediately thinking, oh, it's just one of your standard TV spy show atrocities, like
03:39they blew up a village of innocent people or something.
03:41But then when I'm talking to Shonda and I'm talking to Scott Foley at the sex event, yeah,
03:45they're all, this is about Olivia.
03:47Scott Foley said, imagine the darkest thing you can think about Olivia, that's how dark
03:52the Remington secret is.
03:53And did you see some of the speculation from our readers was that possibly Fitz had a role
03:59in her mother's death, that somehow there was some kind of operation that took down her
04:05plane or something like that?
04:06And what if whoever they killed in the Operation Remington, you know, was somehow, what if they
04:11killed her parents when she was young or something?
04:13Yeah.
04:13Because she obviously was legitimately raised by Rowan, but, you know, the timeline doesn't
04:18work out for that.
04:19So I'm really curious how this is going to dovetail with Olivia's backstory.
04:22It's not going to be good.
04:22It's not going to be good for Fitz and Olivia, I can tell you that.
04:24But then I also think Shonda kind of hinted to me over the summer that this season might
04:28start raising some questions about the timing of Olivia's relationship with Fitz.
04:33So maybe it wasn't so happenstance.
04:36Maybe it wasn't just two people.
04:38Maybe Olivia was targeting Fitz.
04:40Interesting.
04:41It's a really interesting thing with this Remington thing, because it seemed so random at the
04:44beginning.
04:45Right.
04:45And you're like, well, this is obviously going to be in often Cyrus's and Rowan's part of
04:49the world house.
04:50What does this have to do with everybody else?
04:51But obviously it's going to have a lot to do with it.
04:53While we're on the topic scandal, the whole Quinn thing.
04:55Couldn't we just kill another intern?
04:57It wouldn't be that hard.
04:58I know Katie Lowes really enjoys having this edge to the character now that she's a little
05:02bloodthirsty, but you know.
05:03They can't take it too far.
05:05Right.
05:05They can't have her turn into a killer.
05:07I mean, this girl was a rube when she showed up two and a half seasons ago.
05:10Yeah, I know.
05:11I agree.
05:11I think they need to maybe slow that down a little bit before she gets a little out of
05:16hand.
05:16Yeah.
05:16Moving on to Homeland, two episodes into season three, kind of a quieter start than season
05:22two.
05:22You know, there was a lot of criticism that the show got 224 heavy in season two.
05:28And I almost feel like maybe these first couple episodes are acknowledgement of that.
05:32Just very sort of quiet drama.
05:35I'm enjoying it so far.
05:36You know, and interestingly enough, I don't really miss Brody, which just surprises me because
05:40he's such a big part of the show and obviously he's going to be coming.
05:43You know, it's a solid enough start.
05:45That second episode, though, I remember when I was watching it the first time and they're
05:49spending so much time on the Dana thing.
05:51Is it a challenge?
05:53Why would it be a challenge?
05:55And I was one of the first people to see Morgan Saylor's praises as a young actress.
05:58I mean, she's great.
05:59Yeah.
05:59In, you know, contained doses.
06:02But that second episode, I kept thinking, oh, now they're going to cut away from that
06:05storyline.
06:05No, they didn't.
06:06Now they're going to cut away.
06:07They kept sticking with that storyline.
06:08It's no secret that fans don't love that character.
06:11Mm-hmm.
06:11She's famous in a bad way.
06:15The word is infamous.
06:16Maybe a part of this is they're rehabilitating her so that people do start caring about her.
06:21I am not going to let everybody tell me what I should be thinking all the time.
06:25Like, I can't decide for myself.
06:27It didn't bother me, honestly, that much.
06:29I also was surprised, though, because it felt like a little bit of an F.U. to fans.
06:33Like, oh, you don't like her?
06:34We're going to give you more of her.
06:35Right, right.
06:36It's obviously their way of keeping Brody on the canvas without having Brody on the
06:40canvas just yet.
06:41And it is a legitimate beat to play what are possible ramifications for a family after
06:45the patriarch has been revealed as a traitor.
06:48One thing I enjoy about the new season is this new Fara character.
06:50I love that speech she gave.
06:52Your client is funding attacks by terrorists on this country, and all you want to know
06:56is how did we find out?
06:57But then, you know, Josh Lewis, like, stood up and shut her down and said, that's no
07:00way to ask for a favor here in our country.
07:02Yeah.
07:02So I'll be interested to see what they do with her.
07:04And it's more for Mandy Patinkin to do.
07:06And I have a feeling that he's already going to have so much to do this season, almost to
07:10the point where I wonder if he's going to be, like, a lead actor instead of supporting
07:14actor come Emmy time.
07:15American Horror Story Coven premiered on Wednesday.
07:18Pretty good first episode, I have to say.
07:20Yeah, the Horror Story premieres are always very interesting because you get to meet
07:23all the players and see just kind of what twisted banana pants stuff is going to be serving
07:27up.
07:27And there was so much set up, though.
07:29It felt like there was so much to establish, as with any season, because there's a whole
07:33new premise, there's a whole new world, a whole new set of characters.
07:36And for the most part, I'm really intrigued by all of these characters.
07:39But then I was a little disappointed as I'm watching the premiere, you know, I was like,
07:42oh, well, Jessica Lange's in this one world and Kathy Bates is in this other world,
07:46this other timeline.
07:47So when that final scene came up, Kathy Bates joined the rest of us, I was like, this is
07:51going to be very cool.
07:52And also that last line that Jessica delivered where she called Kathy Bates' character, Mary
07:56Todd Lincoln, hilarious.
07:57Come on, Mary Todd Lincoln.
08:00I'll buy you a drink.
08:01And gave me an instant sense of what that dynamic is going to be like, and I can't wait.
08:05Yeah, well, Ryan Murphy said this is going to be a slightly lighter, a little bit more fun
08:09version of Horror Story.
08:10Now we know what role Sarah Paulson's got.
08:12I hope we get a little bit more of Lily Robin, maybe Evan Peters.
08:15I'm sure we're going to get more of Lily.
08:16Yeah.
08:16Yeah.
08:17Because I enjoyed what Evan did with that character in the first episode.
08:19Well, I'm assuming that Lily is probably going to be the one who brings Evan's character
08:22back to life.
08:23Could be.
08:23Could be.
08:23You know, maybe that's too obvious.
08:25And, you know, Tessa Farmiga's got this, you know, kind of timid character.
08:29We just know she's probably going to act out at this point.
08:31And she's got just a horrendous superpower.
08:33Yeah, horrible.
08:36Yeah.
08:36When you're choosing your witchy superpower off the list, that's got to be at the bottom.
08:41Right.
08:41Which is going to make relationship building for her rather difficult.
08:45Yeah.
08:45Also love the score.
08:46Mm-hmm.
08:47It's just a beautiful score, and I feel like it fits the theme so well.
08:51Witches are a big thing this fall.
08:53Witches of East End, the originals, just in time for Halloween.
08:56It's a trend.
08:57I don't have a broom.
08:59That's ironic.
09:00Thank you, Matt.
09:01Always a pleasure to remember.
09:01I may be a monster, but I'm your monster.
09:04I'm a monster, but honey, I'm your monster.
09:07If you say so.
09:08As the credits roll, we're going to replay one of my favorite Emmy interviews.
09:13As you know, I don't toot my horn often.
09:15You always toot your horn.
09:16On the red carpet, most interviewers have trouble keeping track of storylines and actors and
09:21all of this stuff because it's just insanity.
09:22Oh, yeah.
09:23You know, there's flashbulbs going off, publicists screaming, all this craziness.
09:26But I did a really good job in this interview of really staying on point and
09:31remembering what I was talking about, remembering what the storyline was, and I felt so rewarded
09:37by the comments in the comments section.
09:38Like, even our snarky readers were like, this was some of your finest work, Osiello.
09:42Huh.
09:42So I'd like to just play it, indulge me on this.
09:44I'm excited.
09:45No, this will be good.
09:46Great.
09:46I do end up telling people, colleagues of Amy Farrah Fowler's, Sheldon tells them because
09:52he thinks it's a good thing to tell them that they, you know, they've got a good relationship
09:56and a physical one and that one time he spanked her.
10:00Which he did.
10:01And I think his willing to admit that explains how he felt about that.
10:07It needed to happen.
10:08It wasn't pleasurable.
10:11It hurts me more than it hurts you.
10:13You know, yeah.
10:13Well, no, no.
10:14She loved it.
10:15Are you kidding me?
10:16Did she?
10:17That episode goes out on a spanking last year with her going, oh, my.
10:22I don't know that she really liked it, though.
10:24Well, I hope you get her here and can ask her.
10:27I want to get her on the record and confirm that she enjoyed it.
10:29Give the background to the spanking.
10:30I want to get her on the screen.
