00:00Hey, it's Matt Spatz from Cleveland's Morning Show with Matt Spatz on 98.5 NCX.
00:05Trans-Siberian Orchestra the day after Christmas at Rocket Arena.
00:08And again this year, as it's been since 1999, partial proceeds from their tickets.
00:13Go to Benefits St. Augustine Hunger Center right here in Cleveland.
00:17Over $700,000 St. Augustine.
00:20You knew that. This is my buddy Terrence Ray here from St. Augustine.
00:23How's it going, everyone?
00:24$700,000. What can you do with that kind of money?
00:26A lot. You know, food insecurity continues to rise and the need for the people continues to rise.
00:31So we're forever grateful for Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Minute Men, Workforce Solutions, WNCX, and Live Nation
00:36for being a continued partner here with St. Augustine Hunger Center.
00:39As you can see, we're doing a lot of great work.
00:41We have a lot of great food and a large amount of food that's going down.
00:44Holiday meals happening throughout the year.
00:46So we're looking to fill that void and fill that need.
00:48And with partners like you all, we're able to continue to do that.
00:51And it's not just holidays. You guys are here all the time, right, for meals.
00:55And I think that's important for people to know.
00:57Yeah, so it's not, like you said, there's not just a, you know, two to three times a year type deal.
01:01This is every single day we're here serving individuals.
01:03Right now, we're actually serving a lunch.
01:05So here at St. Augustine Hunger Center, lunch goes from 11 to 12, 30.
01:08And then we also serve breakfast and lunch at our Bishop Cosgrove Center.
01:11So we have several different sites that we're operating throughout the city of Cleveland to meet that area.
01:15So as we hear so much about people who've never needed assistance in any kind of form suddenly do, what percentage or how many newer people do you see coming in?
01:26Can you quantify that?
01:27I can't even quantify that. I don't know those numbers off the top of my head.
01:30But we do see that need and we do see that increase, especially with the recent pause on the SNAP benefits and things of that nature.
01:36We saw uptick. But just over the years, there's been a continual, gradual increase.
01:40And so each year we're looking to see how we can continue to provide those services, both economically and affordably,
01:45but also, too, to continue to grow those partnerships that we have with community partners to be able to beat those gaps.
01:50Well, Terrence, you and your entire team here and in your locations, you guys are doing wonderful work.
01:55Thank you. Thank you.
01:56Keep up what you're doing. And again, anybody considering buying tickets for Trans-Siberian Orchestra,
02:01I guarantee you, you're going to get a great show the day after Christmas.
02:04Fantastic show.
02:05It'll become part of your holiday tradition.
02:07But so is this, helping St. Augustine, St. Augustine Hunterson.
