00:09Reports that Director Cash Patel could be replaced recently surfaced amid growing scrutiny of his leadership.

00:19but White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt adamantly rejected the claim.

00:27According to the report, the President and other White House staff had told allies
00:31that Patel could be replaced by senior FBI official Andrew Bailey.
00:36Once Bailey has held his position for 90 days,
00:39Trump could appoint him as acting director without Senate confirmation.
00:42Most recently, Patel prematurely went public with an investigation
00:46into a potential Halloween weekend terrorist plot near Detroit,
00:50even though investigators had not yet obtained all of the pertinent details.
00:54The FBI told NBC News,
00:57Ms. Alexis Wilkins is receiving a protective detail
01:00because she has faced hundreds of credible death threats
01:03related to her relationship with Director Patel,
01:06whom she has been dating for three years.
