00:00Trump White House fumes over Democrats' smear campaign
00:03White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt was slammed for identifying the late Virginia Giuffre
00:09as the victim whose name was redacted in one of Jeffrey Epstein's newly released emails about President Donald Trump.
00:16Epstein's emails
00:17President Donald Trump has said he ended his friendship with financier Jeffrey Epstein around 2004.
00:23In a typo-riddled email from April 2011 sent to his co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell,
00:29Epstein referred to Trump as the dog that hasn't barked.
00:34However, Trump's name appeared more than 1,500 times in the tranche of messages.
00:39The White House responds,
00:41White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt accused Democrats of using selectively leaked emails to create a fake narrative.
00:49The unnamed victim referenced in these emails is the late Virginia Giuffre,
00:53who repeatedly said President Trump was not involved in any wrongdoing whatsoever
00:57and couldn't have been friendlier.
00:59To her and their limited interactions, she continued.
01:03She could pivot.
01:04But social media critics weren't convinced by Leavitt's explanation,
01:08with many slamming the White House for using the deceased and prominent Epstein victim
01:12as deflection from the email's serious implications.
01:15Leavitt addresses other Epstein emails.
01:18During a tense press briefing, Leavitt was pressed on her statement about the Epstein emails
01:22and whether or not Trump spent hours with a victim at the convicted predator's house.
01:28Leavitt fired back.
01:29These emails prove absolutely nothing,
01:32other than the fact that President Trump did nothing wrong.
