00:00It is the multi-cure bill that heals a host of the nation's economic ills, jobs, jobs, and more jobs.

00:12to up the ante on job opportunities and vacancies for the thousands seeking work at a huge job fair in Pasay City.

00:20Our Kenneth Paciente has more.

00:24Five months without a job. That has been Eureka's situation after resigning from her previous company.

00:30Her goal now is to find work closer to where her family lives.

00:33She says it is difficult to have no source of income.

00:39To find new opportunities, Eureka went early to a mall in Pasay City for the Job Fair Plus E-Skills Holiday Career Fest

00:46led by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. himself.

00:49The Job Fair is a joint initiative of the private and public sectors including the Office of the President, DOLE,

00:55DICT, and the Private Sector Advisory Council, or PISAC.

00:59Featured here are 114 employers and more than 16,000 job vacancies.

01:04According to the President, this is a government measure to ensure that opportunities are made more accessible,

01:09especially to Filipinos looking for regular work.

01:12In these times, when many Filipinos are having a hard time finding employment that matches their skills,

01:19their interests, and their aspirations, we are recognized that this is our responsibility

01:25to ensure that assistance is something that meets them wherever they are.

01:30Kaya po nandito tayo ngayon upang gawing mas madali, abot kamay, at makabuluhan ang pagkakataong maghanap ng trabaho.

01:39Malaking tulong po kasi po hindi ko na po kailangan maghanap ng iba't iba pong work po kasi nasa isang lugar na lang po siya.

01:45But beyond the job opportunities featured, another highlight of the event is upskilling through the SkillsEhab,

01:52a project of the DICT and the Private Sector.

01:56Digital training programs were offered through Spark, Google Career Certificates, HP Life,

02:01and others to help applicants improve their knowledge, especially their digital skills.

02:05There were also AI-focused learning sessions to support workers.

02:09The President emphasized that it is important to strengthen the skills of workers

02:13to ensure they can keep up and remain competitive in a rapidly changing era.

02:24na marurunong na gawin ang trabaho niyan.

02:28Tayong lahat ay nararamdaman natin ang bilis ng takbo at mong progreso ng teknolohiya.

02:42kanilang mga magiging empleyado na meron silang natutunan na mga skills training

02:49para bagay yung kanilang alam doon sa kanilang magiging trabaho.

02:55Magandang bagay, sir, kapasaan mo na lang sila lahat.

02:59Kung matanggap man ako, sir, tigamatang ako sa trabaho.

03:03The President again recognized the support of the private sector to the government

03:07in strengthening the country's labor force,

03:10along with his assurance that the government will continue working

03:13to improve the business environment in the country.

03:15Be assured, this administration will continue to create

03:19a fair, transparent, and enabling business environment,

03:24one that encourages both local and foreign investments

03:27and rewards persistence with progress.

03:31As support for applicants, a one-stop shop for government services

03:34was also provided to streamline the issuance of their pre-employment documents.

03:39Some applicants were hired on the spot.
