Pusha T Disses Drake Again For Cheating Album Sales | Hollywoodlife
Transcript
00:00Tekashi 6ix9ine could be facing jail time for skipping court. Kanye West and
00:07Trump's reunion could be a good thing for musicians, somehow. Plus, Pusha T throws
00:11Shada Drake in a new interview.
00:15Hey guys, it's Ali for Hollywood Life and Tekashi 6ix9ine is in hot water after not
00:20showing up to court. The rapper was issued a stern warning from the judge
00:24saying if he does not show up next Tuesday there will be an official call
00:27for his arrest. Tekashi's lawyers tried to justify his absence by blaming it on
00:32his busy schedule but the prosecutor did not take the excuse saying all that
00:37means is he should have booked a flight a day early. Moving on to Kanye West, Ye and
00:42Donald Trump are scheduled to meet at the White House today for the signing of the
00:45Music Modernization Act with the president of the Recording Academy, Neil Portnow.
00:50TMZ reports that the bill will update licensing and royalties to artists,
00:54songwriters, and producers for music played on streaming services which could
00:59have a really positive impact on the music industry. Kanye is also scheduled to
01:03speak with Trump about gang violence in Chicago, prison reform, and manufacturing
01:07jobs. Trump spoke with Fox and Friends about his feelings on Kanye this
01:11morning and confirmed that this bromance is here to stay.
01:15I've known him for a long time. He's a very different kind of a guy. I say that in a
01:19positive way but he is a different kind of a guy. Those that are in the music
01:24business say he's a genius and that's okay with me because as far as I'm
01:28concerned he is. I will say this, when Kanye came out very strongly a number of
01:32months ago, something happened. My polls went up like 25%. Nobody's ever seen it.
01:40It's like he's got a big following in the African-American community. A big big
01:44following. And speaking of streaming, Pusha T spoke at the 2018 Red Bull Music
01:48Festival about artists cheating with streaming numbers. Just in case you
01:52didn't know, Billboard currently counts 1,250 subscription streams as one album
01:58sold. Pusha T said the idea of everybody putting like 25 tracks on an album to
02:03get the streams up is such a poverty way of cheating to me. Now Pusha's criticism
02:08seems to be a subtle jab at his rival Drake whose last three projects generated
02:13massive streaming numbers and all included over 20 tracks with Drake's most
02:18recent Scorpion being exactly 25 tracks long. Pusha T continued to throw
02:24subliminal shots at Drizzy when talking about rappers who can't handle it when a
02:28rap battle gets too real for them.
02:30People will look at the battle, they'll play, they'll play with the whole battle
02:39notion in their raps. They'll say slick things, they'll do this, they'll say this,
02:44they'll say that, right? But then when it comes, it's, oh, it's too far. Oh, you can't do this.
02:53Ah! I'm gonna write a whole dissertation about why this wasn't supposed to be. Like, bruh.
03:02But alright guys, hit the like, sub and bell button and comment down below letting us know if you think
