A growing number of politicians say they're open to a review of travel entitlements as further details about the use of expenses are exposed. But the prime minister isn't weighing into the debate instead trying to keep the focus on the social media ban.

00:13There's definitely been mixed opinions about it.
00:16While still being schooled by journalists on the ethics of politicians' travel entitlements.
00:21What I've been focused on this week, to be frank, is one of the biggest reforms.
00:27My focus is not on entitlements.
00:30But expenses are in the spotlight.
00:32After it was revealed, Communications Minister Annika Wells used her entitlements
00:37to take her family to Threbbo and her husband to sporting events.
00:41Other politicians have spent tens of thousands of dollars flying their spouses into state,
00:46all apparently within the rules.
00:48I think it's time we actually had a look at all of these so-called entitlements.
00:53We're of course happy to look at the rules and make sure that they continue to be in line with community expectations.
00:59The Prime Minister acknowledging community expectations are important, but...

01:14This is the Prime Minister who's running away from responsibility.
01:17Questions about the use of travel expenses and whether they're too generous have been asked for years.
01:22The rules were reviewed in 2010 and 2016 with changes made.
01:27Nearly a decade on, momentum is building towards another inquiry.
01:31But it would take Prime Ministerial approval.
01:34And Anthony Albanese is showing no inclination of wanting to re-examine the rules.
