00:00Olivia Rodrigo opens up about her sudden success.
00:07Cardi B reacts to drama about her heritage.
00:10Plus, Selena Gomez gushes over Billie Eilish.
00:16Hey guys, it's Ally for Hollywood Life with your music roundup starting with you!
00:20Make sure you have hit the sub-like and bell button so you don't miss seeing my face.
00:25Let's start this one off with Cardi B.
00:26The rapper was forced to defend her heritage after people started to drag her into the controversy, circling Dani Lee's song Yellow Bone.
00:35If you didn't know, Dani's been heavily criticized after she shared a snippet of the song and responded to the backlash by saying,
00:42Why I can't make a song for my light-skinned baddies.
00:45This led to many on social media to discuss Dani's heritage and compared it to Cardi B.
00:50Well, Cardi reacted by posting pictures of her family members to Twitter and saying this whole argument and me bringing up my family tree is cause for the last four days y'all been comparing me to someone I don't look like at all because we have the same nationality.
01:05Nationality is not color or race.
01:08Cardi continued,
01:09You really sit here in the comments arguing and don't be making no sense.
01:13My grandmother is fully Afro-Caribbean black.
01:16My grandfather was light, my complexion.
01:18That's why my mom is light and some of her siblings are brown.
01:22Afro-Caribbeans exist.
01:24To Billie Eilish now, the singer recently revealed to Vanity Fair that she doesn't know how much cereal costs.
01:30Billie said,
01:31I don't know what things cost because I've never been an adult before.
01:34And you know, I grew up with no money.
01:36She continued,
01:37I tried to order one box of Fruit Loops and was like,
01:39Oh yeah, sure.
01:40It's $35.
01:41I didn't know that that's expensive.
01:43I ordered 70 boxes.
01:44Apparently they were the mini variety, but don't worry, Billie.
01:48Adulting is hard.
01:49You'll learn.
01:50Almonds and cheese, so expensive.
01:53And let's stick with Billie and Vanity Fair,
01:55because Selena Gomez saw the cover and took to Instagram to react.
01:58Sel reposted the cover of her story and said,
02:01Icon Billie Eilish is wearing rare beauty on the cover of Vanity Fair.
02:05Low-key freaking out.
02:06You look stunning.
02:07Moving on to Olivia Rodrigo now.
02:09The actress slash pop superstar spoke to Vogue about her explosive rise and revealed it's kind of weird.
02:16Olivia said,
02:17It's quite strange because my entire life has changed in a week and also nothing has changed at all.
02:22She continued,
02:23Every day I'm in my house doing homework, but people who I've looked up to since I was 10 are reaching out and saying they love my music.
02:30It's sort of a strange paradox.
02:32And speaking of Olivia and driver's license, there are some fans that are convinced that Disney is behind all the drama surrounding DL and skin.
02:42One of the main clues of this theory was brought up by TikTok user Tayloram31.
02:47In the video, we see a clip from Disney's 2014 show, Girl Meets World, starring Sabrina Carpenter.
02:53In the clip, a character is reading something called the girl with the long blonde hair.
02:57Adding to this, she's looking at Sabrina's character and saying,
03:01We could have been friends maybe in some other life.
03:04A line that is almost identical to a lyric from Sabrina's song, Skin.
03:08So was this a coincidence?
03:10Did Sabrina purposefully draw inspiration from her old show?
03:14Or was this all Disney pulling the strings from behind the curtain?
