00:03Cheryl Hines, best known for her Hollywood career and now the spouse of Health and Human

00:08Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has discovered that entering the political

00:13spotlight carries a far heavier weight than the entertainment world ever demanded.

00:18According to Fox News, while speaking Monday on Fox & Friends, Hines reflected on the backlash

00:24she has faced since shifting from acting to defending her husband's role in the Trump

00:28administration.

00:30In Hollywood, I didn't experience that level of criticism, she said.

00:34It would be on a different level, right?

00:37You have a movie, it comes out, it's joyful, there might be some chatter.

00:42But politics is next level.

00:44Her comments came after a tense October appearance on ABC's The View, where she clashed with co-host

00:50Sonny Hostin over whether Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is qualified to lead HHS.

00:55Hostin asserted that Kennedy was the least qualified Department of Health and Human Services head

01:01that we've had in history.

01:03Hines pushed back, arguing that her husband has dedicated his life to public health.

01:08He has spent his career fighting for people's health, she said.

01:12She also noted that 90% of the HHS secretaries have not been doctors, and one of them was

01:19an economist.

01:20During the interview, Hines said she focused on keeping the discussion calm rather than

01:25escalating the disagreement.

01:26When tensions run high, I try to keep things calm and really try to connect with someone,

01:32she explained.

01:33People put up their barriers, and they don't really want to listen.

01:37I was just trying to listen.

01:39She added that understanding opposing viewpoints is essential, even when conversations become

01:44uncomfortable.

01:45I want to understand why someone thinks the way they do and engage with them over facts,

01:50Hines said.

01:51But some people don't want to engage that way.

01:55Hines said her husband's political shift has strained relationships and changed Hollywood

01:59support.
