An ambulance driver died while two nurses and a patient were injured when the vehicle was involved in an accident at KM59.8 of the North-South Expressway (PLUS), southbound, on Tuesday (Dec 9).

00:00Tragedy on the North-South Expressway on Tuesday as an ambulance driver lost his life in a road
00:08accident. The incident occurred at kilometre 59.8 of the Plus Highway southbound near Rengam
00:15at around 1.30 p.m. A Segamat Hospital ambulance skidded, resulting in four casualties,
00:22the 43-year-old driver, two nurses and a patient who was being transported.
00:27Rengam Fire and Rescue Station deployed six personnel who arrived to find the driver and
00:32front passenger had been thrown from the vehicle, while two other victims remained in the back of
00:37the ambulance. The rescue team moved all victims to a safe area before handing them over to ambulance
00:44services. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was handed over to police for
00:49further action. The three injured victims, both nurses and the patient, were sent to Enchek Basar
00:55Hajah Khalsam Hospital in Kluang for treatment.
