Post-match press conference with Liverpool manager Arne Slot after their 3-3 draw with Leeds United at Elland Road in the Premier League.
Liverpool went 2-0 up early in the second half through a quick Hugo Ekitike brace before Leeds hit back, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin scoring from the spot and Anton Stach adding a rapid second to make it 2-2. Dominik Szoboszlai then restored Liverpool’s lead late on, only for Ao Tanaka to head in a 96th minute equaliser from a corner as Leeds completed a dramatic comeback.
Slot reflects on another night of “so many positives” without the result, stressing that Liverpool “hardly conceded a chance” yet still let in three goals. He discusses Ibrahima Konaté’s foul that led to the VAR penalty, the recurring issue of conceding from set pieces with 10 set piece goals against and barely any scored this season, and the difficulty of combining dominant performances with wins. The Liverpool boss insists he did not see a team that stopped, praises the mentality to go 3-2 up and create big late chances, and admits it is hard for players and fans to keep accepting dropped points in this way.
