00:00In this case, we will be arguing that the legal threshold for the designation of this area has not been met, that this decision breaches Victoria's Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities, and the police powers to order the removal of face coverings, including for people like Benny, who have face coverings as part of their form of police pressure, is unconstitutional.
00:26Beyond this case, this is about what type of city we want to limit.
00:32Do we want to live in a city where we can freely express ourselves without fear, or do we want to live in a city where police can racially profile anyone, can harass and intimidate our most vulnerable, and can stop us from speaking out against issues of injustice?
00:52This is about pushing back against the ever-expanding police powers in Victoria.
