W. Kamau Bell is ripping the Kennedy Center Honors ... he says the only folks taking home hardware are celebs who are cool with President Trump ... which is a problem for him, because he says Trump is a fascist.

00:31are all people who are worth being honored but the first thing they have to

00:34be is down with Trump that's what I'm saying you can go back to Obama and you

00:39know George Clooney is on the list and again I think well-deserved but clearly

00:43an ally friend of Obama so they all do that yes but Obama did an interesting

00:49thing during his presidency that Trump isn't doing Obama wasn't a dictator so

00:56being close friends with the president is not the same then as it is now we can

01:01argue about whether Obama was a good president that's different but Trump

01:04right now is turning America into a fascist state I don't know if you've read

01:07the news so being down with him right now it means something very different than

01:11being down with even George W Bush who I don't necessarily agree with politically

01:14if you're the artist who's actually selected can you look at it without

01:19politics and just say yeah I've had a good career and I'm gonna accept this honor

01:22and you go without mentioning politics everybody can make the choice they want

01:27to make but have breaking news put the breaking news banner up everything is

01:31political everything you do in life every decision you make where you choose to

01:35shop who you choose to hang out with what honors you choose to accept it is all

01:39political and there's no way to go in there accept your award and leave without

01:44then the Trump administration monetizing your appearance there and using it

01:49to clean their dirty laundry there's no way to do it if you were say kiss or

01:53Gloria Gaynor you wouldn't have accepted it look if I was kiss is such blowing my

01:59mind this will show up for the opening of an envelope we know that as long as the

02:02kiss branded envelope that's how they roll I would not accept that honor

02:06actually I don't even want to talk about them I feel sorry for Kid Rock he has done

02:10so much Trump butt kissing in the last several years and he didn't get honored

02:13that's what we really should be celebrating right now
