00:04Hi!
00:05Hi!
00:06Hi!
00:09Hi, boys.
00:17Hi!
00:17Wait, there!
00:19Hi, boys.
00:21Hi, boys.
00:21Hi, boys.
00:26Oh my goodness, first of all, first of all, we're going to shout out every HBCU in the
00:49building tonight, but first and foremost, I have to welcome everybody to 106 in sports,
00:54where we are counting down the top five moments in sports that matter to the culture.
01:00I am Ashley Nicole Moss.
01:02And I'm Cam Newton, and we got a big show today.
01:04We're going to talk to one of the best in his class, the WBA Super Featherweight World Champion,
01:11Lamont Roach Jr., and NFL legend Todd Gurley.
01:15Ooh.
01:15Plus, we got a few special people in the live, this audience, as I mentioned.
01:25We're going to do a little bit of a roll call.
01:27A.I. Kentucky State, where you at?
01:30Who you at?
01:30K State!
01:31Who you at?
01:32K State!
01:32Who you at?
01:33K State!
01:34K State!
01:35Woo!
01:36Who you at, Ashley?
01:38Oh, listen, with them, clearly, because they lit.
01:41Oh, no.
01:42K State!
01:43But it's about to get even litder, because it's Savannah State in the building!
01:46Woo!
01:47Woo!
01:48Woo!
01:49Woo!
01:50Woo!
01:51Woo!

02:06Woo!
02:07Woo!
02:08Woo!
02:09Woo!
02:10Wow.
02:11Hey.
02:12Wow.
02:13Wow.
02:14That's it.
02:15But we're not done.
02:16We're not done, Kim.
02:17Okay.
02:18Okay.
02:19We got to go to this side of the studio real quick, because there's Morehouse in the building!
02:25And last but certainly not least, I gotta take it to the group
02:53behind me because it's Clark Atlanta in the building!
03:21Woo!
03:24See, see, see, see!
03:26Wow!
03:27You, you, you!
03:28First and foremost, I have to say, Cam, we've done a lot of these shows and we have been
03:34blessed with a lot of different crowds, a lot of different audience members, but I think
03:38we can both agree on one thing.
03:40Okay.
03:41This is the Liz crowd we ever had.
03:42Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no.
03:43For sure.
03:44For sure.
03:45For sure.
03:46For sure.
03:47It's the passion.
03:48It's the passion.
03:49It's definitely the passion.
03:50Yes.
03:51And when you have chants like this, coming from a person, and I always will say it when
03:56you have an opportunity to say it.
03:57I didn't get the opportunity to go to an HBCU.
04:00Huh?
04:01I went to a PWI.
04:03Shh.
04:04No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
04:07Cause I come from the cloth of, if you graduated, it didn't matter where you graduated from.
04:13You extended your further learning experience.
04:17But when you see the beautiful peoples of the HBCU historical black colleges and universities,
04:30it's a little song that you don't get from my Caucasian constitution.
04:35And that make me a little peanut butter and jelly.
04:41Just a smidge.
04:44Let the church say amen.
04:47Yes.
04:48So, so, so when I, when I, when I see y'all coming up with the CCCC, A, A, A, A, A,
04:54you, you, and then Savannah State quotes and chants and all this and the rest.
04:59Ah, I love me some y'all.
05:02You dig it up there.
05:04For real.
05:05Look, before we get into the countdown and kick off what's going to be an absolutely amazing show.
05:11I can feel it.
05:12Let's take a look at some of our favorite highlights.
05:14This year's Bayou Classic was an absolute banger.
05:17Southern squeaked by Grambling State 2827 at the Caesars Superdome in the national televised game.
05:24Continuing a tradition that pops in over 60,000 fans each year.
05:30Plus, Gorilla and Juvenile brought some major star power with their halftime performance.
05:35And it blew up all across social media.
05:37In the NFL, the Bills beat the Steelers 26-7.
05:41And Josh Allen broke yet another one of my records and became the NFL all-time leader in rushing touchdowns by a quarterback.
05:49Later, Denver beat the Commanders in an overtime war.
05:52Traylon Burks stole the show, though, with a ridiculous one-handed catch that's already being called the Catch of the Year.
06:00And in the NBA, the reigning champions, the OKC Thunder, extended their win streak to 12 in a row and set a historic 20 wins and only one lost record.
06:11The best start in NBA history since the 2016 Golden State War.
06:15Okay, we are going to jump into number five on the countdown.
06:21This week, number five is all about the Benjamins, baby, specifically the NIL versus the NFL.
06:29Does college pay more than the pros?
06:32Well, five college football players are about to find out.
06:35They are currently asking a federal judge to let them play a fifth season of college football in 2026.
06:42That's one more year than the NCAA currently allows.
06:46If they win, it could rewrite the entire playbook for college athletes and their earning power.
06:52They would be able to earn millions and extend their window.
06:56The entire sports ecosystem, the NCAA, the NFL recruiting media rights could possibly be rewritten.
07:04Okay.
07:05So this sounds like the real question is, is staying amateur the smartest way to make millions?
07:13If it is, what does that mean for the dream of making it to the league?
07:18All right.
07:19Well, Kim, I'm going to pass the baton to you because I feel passing it.
07:26This is something you know very well about entering into the draft after being in college and what that system is like.
07:33How do you feel about five-year collegiate athletes?
07:37Man, get y'all ass on.
07:39Like y'all clouding up what's already, y'all already had y'all time.
07:44Y'all already lived y'all life, huh?
07:46Four years is enough.
07:48To be honest with you, if you ask me if I would change something, I would deduct a year.
07:53Wow.
07:54Okay.
07:55Because now we all been to college, obviously.
07:58We going to college thinking that we got time.
08:01You deduct a year, that eliminates everybody from playing too much.
08:06Got a little fire.
08:07Yeah, yeah, yeah.
08:08You can go out, but you got to get up.
08:10You go out to get up to still be able to go out.
08:14I done been to school with some folks, man.
08:16I done been to school with a person that had a red shirt.
08:19Uh-huh.
08:20A medical red shirt.
08:21Oh.
08:22A gray shirt.
08:23So I'm like, bro, you really like 23 years old, bro?
08:26Mm-hmm.
08:27I'm just 19.
08:28You feel what I'm saying?
08:29Mm-hmm.
08:30And you still got more years of eligibility?
08:32You got a whole wife and kid at home.
08:35And y'all trying to extend all that?
08:37Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah.
08:39See, what's not going to happen is you going to be one of them old brothers,
08:43knocking on the new brothers that's coming in.
08:46It's like old school, the movie.
08:47It's all right, but go on again.
08:48Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go.
08:50Go on.
08:51And you know what I'm saying?
08:52Get on out the way because that's what I feel.
08:55Now, I ain't knocking somebody who's got some unforeseen issues that happen.
08:58For sure.
08:59You get hurt, okay, you get an additional year.
09:02It's just your circumstance ain't been ideal for you.
09:06Mm-hmm.
09:07But you're trying to go back to the bank and you already had opportunities to make money?
09:12Come on now, bro.
09:14Come on, son.
09:15Go on and get your bag and get the hell on.
09:19Because, like, for real, like, knowing what I know, it's not something that I just want
09:24to marvel after, like, yo, bro, like, keep getting to that bag.
09:27And let's just go on and state the obvious here.
09:30Uh-oh.
09:31There's no such thing as amateur sports anymore.
09:35It's high school and you can make money in high school with NIL in most states.
09:40And you go straight to making a career earnings worth of money.
09:45Mm-hmm.
09:46Now, some of these NIL deals is a little handsome.
09:49A little is an understatement.
09:51Yes.
09:52So, therefore, why would I allow or why would I think it would be a good idea for somebody
09:57to keep stringing that on out?
09:59You know what I'm saying?
10:00Get your bag, do right by that bag, and get the hell on.
10:05All right.
10:06Well, listen, we have more 106 on the way.
10:09We're talking to WBA featherweight champ Lamar Roach Jr. and NFL legend Todd Gurley.
10:16To see who's up next in the world of sports, go to BET.com for our next Up Series presented
10:22by Jeep Grand Cherokee.
10:24Hello, everybody, and welcome back to 106 in Sports, where culture meets the game.
10:38We are very excited for our next guest, former Offensive Player of the Year, three-time Pro
10:44Bowler, and one of the most dominant running backs to ever do it.
10:48Absolutely.
10:49106 makes some noise for Todd Gurley.
10:53Hey, listen, I told you I got a banger.
10:58Uh-oh.
10:59Ask me.
11:00You ready for this one?
11:01I am not, but here we go.
11:02Well, you better be.
11:03I met my lady at his house.
11:07Wow.
11:08Todd, did you see the sparks between Jazz and Cam back then?
11:13Did you always know?
11:14Impossible.
11:15This is new for me.
11:16Honestly, I had no idea.
11:18No, for sure.
11:19No, but it was during that time, and it was like, it was one of those situations
11:22where life just lifed.
11:25But, T.T., man, hey, bro, what you got going on these days, man?
11:28I'm out here in L.A., so there's always something going on.
11:31Dodgers just got done winning the World Series.
11:33Yeah.
11:34Got basketball coming.
11:35Getting ready for the holiday times.
11:37I'm glad you mentioned L.A. because we gotta talk about the current Rams quarterback, Matthew Stafford,
11:43who is having an absolutely phenomenal season.
11:46Obviously, the MVP front runner.
11:49A lot of conversations about him, and somebody else we'll get to in just a second.
11:53But what are you seeing from him, and what are you loving that you're seeing from him?
11:57I think most importantly for Stafford, he's not turning the ball over.
12:01I don't think he's turned the ball over within, like, the last five, six games.
12:04Yeah.
12:05So, he's definitely probably number two at the MVP conversation.
12:08You know who I got number one.
12:10Who's number one?
12:11You know who I'm looking for.
12:12Tell us.
12:13You know I gotta go Jonathan Taylor.
12:14Okay.
12:15Even though Stafford is a bulldog, I always ride my bulldogs, but I'm always riding my running backs.
12:20I just shared a wholesome moment about, you know, me always having a love and desire about HBCUs.
12:26Everybody in my family went to an HBCU, right?
12:29But I went to a PWI.
12:31The same goes for Ty Gurley.
12:34Could you tell us about your roots from North Carolina, and what team that you're very fond
12:39over?
12:40There we go.
12:41There we go.
12:42Yeah, my brother and my sister, they both graduated from North Carolina Central.
12:46So, I'm an Eagle at heart.
12:47You know, an honorary Eagle member.
12:49I always thought about it.
12:50You know, I didn't finish up at Georgia.
12:52But I was like, man, you know what?
12:53I might really keep it in the family, to be honest, if I was to go back and just keep that
12:56tradition in the family on HBCU, right?
12:59And Deuce Central, follow the family.
13:01Yeah.
13:02I want to ask you, because you mentioned Jonathan Taylor, and he's having an absolutely incredible
13:07season.
13:08They're saying best running back in the NFL currently.
13:10And as we know, when you talk about the MVP award, the last running back to win it was
13:14Adrian Peterson in 2012.
13:16Yep.
13:17It has historically been a quarterback award, and I put that in quotes because it's not
13:22by name a quarterback award, but by people who have received it.
13:27It seems to be a quarterback award.
13:29Do you think that Jonathan Taylor can break that pattern this season?
13:32In all reality, we realistically know it's definitely a quarterback award, and rightfully
13:37so.
13:38Those guys, they really do deserve it.
13:39That's the hardest position on the field by far.
13:42But what Jonathan Taylor is doing with the coach, obviously, you know, addition of Matt
13:48Jones coming over from the Giants, I think he can get it.
13:51I really do.
13:52What AP did was different.
13:54Yeah.
13:55Coming off the ACL the prior year, but I just don't know.
13:59I just don't know.
14:00I don't know.
14:02Mr. MVP could tell you a lot better than actually.
14:04Mr. MVP can tell us.
14:05I'm just the offensive player.
14:07Hey, listen, though.
14:08Hey, I want to give you your flowers, bro, because a lot of times people forget what
14:14was done before them.
14:15How do you look at the game now from the lens that you're looking through being a former
14:21player as well as playing it at a high level?
14:24As far as their emotions is not there because I'm not playing anymore.
14:28But far as a fan aspect, I love it.
14:31I love seeing the young guys.
14:33Which one of the running backs you admire watching the most?
14:37Ooh.
14:38Obviously, Jonathan Taylor right now.
14:40That's a no-brainer.
14:42Saquon, what he did last year.
14:44And little guy, Bucky Irvin.
14:46Bucky Irvin, man.
14:47I like him from the Bucs as well.
14:49The running back position has seen a lot of ups and downs in the NFL, right?
14:54Some people say it has completely changed the level of, I guess, importance or the importance
15:01when it comes to getting paid.
15:02The value.
15:03The value, rather.
15:04There you go.
15:05That's the word I'm looking for.
15:06How have you seen that change?
15:07And where do you think it is currently today in the NFL?
15:10Do you think it has gotten better than years prior?
15:12I don't think it's gotten better, to be honest with you.
15:15I think guys just kind of accepted the fact that we are over just kind of just begging for
15:20money, for real, that people rightfully deserve.
15:23But honestly, at the end of the day, I really think you just got to be comfortable with a number.
15:28Whether, you know, it's a $5 million difference.
15:30Just kind of be comfortable.
15:32Say, I can feed my family with this.
15:34I'm happy.
15:35And let's move on.
15:36Because a lot of times, they'll try to trick you out of that position.
15:40And we've seen that with other running backs not being able to get that money.
15:43So you kind of got to take what you can get.
15:46And hopefully you were able to renegotiate in a couple of years.
15:50Hey, so peep this.
15:51Okay.
15:52I think the NFL should move to this specific plan.
15:57Give the top tier money to the top tier guy, no matter the position.
16:03So it takes the power out of, hey, the quarterback market is extremely high.
16:08Well, the quarterback for a specific team may not be asked to do as much as a quarterback
16:13on another team.
16:14The same for a running back on a certain team.
16:17Okay.
16:18It's a market value of like, yo, if our top guy makes X amount of dollars, no matter what position he is, he could be a tackle, he could be a receiver, he could be a running back, he could be a quarterback.
16:29Give that individual the money rather than it always being a quarterback making the top tier of the money.
16:34You heard it from the quarterback himself.
16:36Everybody make some noise for Todd Gurley.
16:39We're going to dive back into our countdown and we're coming in at number four and it's all about who owns Christmas, not who stole Christmas.
16:51The NFL has gotten into the Christmas Day bag and they have massive numbers that show they are here to stay.
17:00Last year's Christmas games average, get ready for this Cam, 26 million viewers.
17:05But the NBA has held onto that day for as long as I can remember.
17:10It's their long running holiday tradition and their Christmas Day slate jumped big to averaging about 5 million viewers per game up more than 80% from the year before.
17:21But 26 million and 5 million.
17:24That's a little bit of a difference, Cam.
17:27So the question is, is the NBA actually making the real push to reclaim Christmas as their day?
17:35Or does the NFL still run the holiday anytime they decide to show up?
17:40Let's talk about it.
17:41Okay, Cam, you know the NBA is near and dear to my heart.
17:44Why does the NFL need to infiltrate what has always belonged to us?
17:50And that is Christmas Day.
17:51You guys can't have everything.
17:53You got Thanksgiving.
17:54Now you got Black Friday.
17:55I'ma tell you.
17:56College has New Year's Eve, New Year's Day.
17:58I'ma tell you.
17:59Let us have one holiday.
18:00We can't do that, son, because how that money being made now?
18:05Folks is getting to the bag.
18:06The owners been getting to the bag for a long time.
18:09We just want a piece of that pie.
18:11You understand what I'm saying?
18:12I mean, the NFL is so dominating the NBA on a day that used to belong.
18:19Hold on, slow down.
18:20I couldn't hear you.
18:21I got that.
18:22Say that part one more time.
18:23They're dominating a day that used to belong.
18:25They have Beyonce last year.
18:27The NBA can't compete with Beyonce.
18:29No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
18:31Can the NBA afford Beyonce?
18:34Okay, don't do that now.
18:35You're going to come out and not only steal a day that belonged to my beloved NBA,
18:41and it was a whole day of basketball, and my mom would constantly be yelling at me and my dad,
18:45we're watching basketball again.
18:46It's Christmas.
18:47Put the Grinch on.
18:48We're like, nope, we can't.
18:49The Lakers are playing the Celtics.
18:50We got to lock in.
18:51And now, all of a sudden, the NFL got Beyonce.
18:55Yeah.
18:56Can't compete with Beyonce.
18:57That's what I'm trying to tell y'all.
18:58Y'all stay in y'all lane until we get mad.
19:00You dig what I'm saying?
19:01The countdown continues when we get back.
19:03Plus, WBA champion Lamont Roach Jr. is pulling up, and he's ready to talk about his next big party.
19:10Welcome back, everybody, to 106 in Sports, where culture meets the game.
19:24We have a studio filled of HBCUs.
19:28Matter of fact, do a roll call.
19:30Let's do a roll call.
19:31Let's do a roll call.
19:32Is Warhouse in the building?
19:33They sleep.
19:34They sleep?
19:35They sleep.
19:36They sleep.
19:37They sleep.
19:38Okay, what about you?
19:39Who you got?
19:40Uh, Savannah State is in the building.
19:43They're still asleep.
19:44They're still asleep.
19:45They're still asleep.
19:46Okay, a little bit better.
19:49Clark Atlanta's in the building.
19:51What about Kentucky State in the building?
20:01Okay.
20:02All three of y'all.
20:03I hear y'all.
20:04All right.
20:05We are still counting down the topics that matter to the culture.
20:09And coming in at number three, we want to take some time to celebrate someone who lives in the intersection of sports and culture.
20:17And that is Snoop D O double G.
20:21Absolutely.
20:23This isn't just an anniversary.
20:25It's 20 year milestone of real impact.
20:29The Snoop Youth Football League has helped shape the next generation of NFL stars and community leaders.
20:35It is proof that success means bringing others up with you.
20:39Absolutely.
20:40I'm so proud to have met and to know a guy like Snoop Dogg and to see the impact that he really does have.
20:48And this is what I would say.
20:50It's more than just money.
20:52It's more than just an appearance where you just show up behind by you just take a picture.
20:57Coming from a person that's really put in time, energy, effort and resources to the next generation.
21:03There are certain people that does not want the credit.
21:07I just literally want to see Le Mamet, Le Pookie, Le Junior and them, Meatball.
21:14All of them have an opportunity because I know the impact of what football has done in my life.
21:20Right?
21:21I wouldn't be here without football.
21:25If you're in the youth dynamic, your son ain't about to get an offer today.
21:31So you might as well tap in with your daughter, with your son and ask this question first before any statistics.
21:37Are you having fun?
21:39Because if you're not having fun, it doesn't matter what you expect from your son or your daughter,
21:43because it's all signs of burnout.
21:46If your son and daughter is performing at a high level and they're having fun,
21:51that's a win-win that has long impact and that's what you want.
21:55Absolutely.
21:56Listen, keep clapping guys because are you ready for our next guest?
22:00Yes.
22:01We got the WBA super featherweight world champion, one of the sharpest, cleanest boxers on the scene.
22:08He has been climbing his way into every conversation about who exactly runs the division.
22:14D&B stand up.
22:16Your champ is here.
22:17Give it up for Lamont Rose Jr.
22:19My boy!
22:23What's up, man?
22:25How you thinking, bro?
22:26You straight?
22:27I'm really, man.
22:29I'm working, man.
22:30You know.
22:31Absolutely.
22:32Hey, listen, let's slide it off like this, man.
22:34I think you shook up the world in one of the fights of the year that we look back and say,
22:40like, yo, we were not expecting that.
22:44As you get prepared for the next fight, what are some of the things that you keep in mind
22:49of what you need to show the world that that wasn't a quote unquote fluke?
22:55Man, I just need to continue being myself.
22:58Like you said, a lot of people wouldn't expect that from me.
23:01Just off the simple fact that my last opponent had all the notoriety in the world.
23:06And on top of that, he was a world caliber fighter.
23:09You know, I just ain't had the same eyes on me as he did.
23:12But I just got to keep doing me.
23:14Keep the same confidence level.
23:15Know that I'm a bad motherfucker, Wendy.
23:17Ooh.
23:18Okay.
23:19Look, you're going up in a weight class.
23:21What do you think or what should fans expect to see from this new version of you?
23:27Uh, same as last time.
23:29You know, I'm going to show up and show out.
23:31I moved up a weight class in my last fight as well.
23:34Obviously, I wasn't the smaller guy.
23:36I think probably will be like, you know, similar case.
23:40So, Lamont, I'm going to ask you this.
23:43How far away are you becoming the undisputed champion or the undisputed pound-for-pound best boxer in the world?
23:53Ooh.
23:54I'm on my way.
23:55I ain't going to lie.
23:56I'm on my way.
23:57See, what I set out to do with my plans in boxing, like my goals, I plan to fight the best fights possible.
24:04That's why I'm taking on people at a number weight class for entering our world championship so they can line me up for a world champion at 140.
24:13Or possibly, if we're busy, we can go down to the likes of, you know, the Shakurs, the other guys that are champions.
24:20T.O.
24:21T.O and Shakurs make a fight.
24:22So, the winner of that fight, you know what I'm saying?
24:24Stuff like that.
24:25That's where I'm going, to be considered pound-for-pound one of the best.
24:30Where do you fall in influencers infiltrating boxing?
24:34It's like a love-hate with that.
24:36You know, I've been doing this my whole life.
24:39And it took me this long to get to this point in this stage where I'm a notable guy in the sport and I'm getting paid, you know what I'm saying, quite well.
24:51So, for influencers to come here, know experience, know nothing, and just come get a bag, it's just like, it's crazy, because we've been doing this since we were kids.
25:01So, and amateurs, you get, you don't get paid.
25:05You know what I'm saying?
25:06You don't do none of that.
25:07When you turn pro, it depends on what your status is, what social, what social following you have and all that, for people to, like, actually look at you.
25:15So, as you get prepared for this fight coming up, what's been your sparring strategy?
25:19What's been your training strategy?
25:21Have you added certain personnel?
25:23Have you done anything different or you just stayed to the same routines that you've been doing up until this point?
25:29You know, we added a few things in our regiment.
25:34We always work hard, for sure.
25:36But, you know, our spawn partners are tough and gritty and they crack like pit bulls.
25:44So, you know, we've just been, we've just been working our game plans to tax that all night.
25:52Yeah.
25:53Well, I know I speak for both Cam and myself when we say we wish you a successful fight.
25:58Absolutely.
25:59It's also a healthy fight.
26:00Absolutely.
26:01Everybody make some noise for the DMV's very own Lamont Roach Jr.
26:06And look, don't miss Lamont Roach versus Isaac Pitbull Cruz this week, December 6th, 2025 for the interim WBC super lightweight title.
26:19And more 106 on the way.
26:21Stay right where you at.
26:23You dig what I'm saying?
26:24And.
26:25Cheers, dude.
26:34Yeah.
26:36Yeah.
26:37Yeah.
26:38Yeah.
26:40Yeah.
26:41Yeah.
26:42Yeah.
26:43Yeah.
26:44Yeah.
26:45Yeah.
26:46Yeah.
26:47Welcome back, everybody, to 106 in sports.
26:49Before we get into the countdown again, I got to say, I'm feeling this side of the room.
26:56I'm feeling that side of the room.
26:58I'm feeling this side of the room.
27:00But I feel like over here, we got to give this side of the room some love.
27:05Hi, fellas.
27:07Hello, hello.
27:08We're going to keep the countdown moving with the number two topic.
27:14And it's all about Method Man because he popped up at the New York Jets game.
27:19Not on the Jumbotron, not courtside.
27:23He was working as a credentialed photographer.
27:27And this moment, it's actually part of a bigger conversation
27:30about celebrities showcasing other talents and other creative sides.
27:35Cam, you know a thing or two about that.
27:38Yeah, I'm known to go on a side quest.
27:40I think this is extremely dope because as a football player
27:47specifically, we are masked athletes.
27:53We heard what some would say, shut up and dribble.
27:58There's so much more behind the mask.
28:01There's so much more behind the sneakers.
28:02There's so much more behind the racket.
28:04And anytime you see an individual like Method Man, a person who's been rapping, and obviously
28:11a movie star or an actor, to see him in this type of dynamic is something that is extremely
28:19impactful.
28:20We've seen individuals like Marshawn Lynch.
28:22We've seen individuals like Kevin Durant.
28:24We've seen individuals like Ken Griffey Jr. really to showcase, you know, their passion
28:30for content.
28:31So.
28:32Okay.
28:33Well, since we have all of this HBCU school spirit here, we want to play a game.
28:40All right, so throughout the course of the season, we've had a lot of interesting moments.
28:52Some might even call them meme worthy, Cam.
28:55Right now, we want to revisit some of those moments.
28:57So each school will have 15 seconds to create a caption.
29:01The audience will go ahead and choose the funniest using applause.
29:05The loudest reaction will win.
29:08Everybody got that?
29:09Who's Melrose?
29:10Who's Melrose?
29:11Who's Melrose?
29:12Who's Melrose.
29:13Who's Melrose?

35:50an incredible incredible ride which kind of leads us into a theme in sports this year and that is all
35:58about leveling up so tonight we are celebrating the people writing the next chapter of their story
36:04because the question this year hasn't been can they it's how far can they go now let's shout
36:10out sga for not only winning mvp winning a championship yeah we also have to shout out angel
36:16reese who is getting buckets on and off the court for sure victoria's secret model apparel
36:23reebok and not to mention what she's doing on the court as well absolutely well you got a guy
36:28like castanet and especially like an individual like drewski individuals that are reshaping how we
36:34consume content what drewski has been able to do he's not the typical stand-up comedian but what he's
36:41doing is really creating a a buzz that we didn't even know that we needed right i also want to give a
36:48shout out to tiana taylor yeah yes not only did she drop a new album and she's got a new man but uh
36:57she's in movies with leonardo dicaprio and getting oscar buzz so she has shown that there is never a
37:04time that you can't reinvent yourself and do it all over again shawty is what we call she got depth
37:09um being a mother having the skill set that she has from set design creative directing yeah she's
37:19making her mark felt uh especially in this industry um my last person for the year of the level up
37:26would be mr cam newton because cam has really taken life after football grabbed it by the horns and
37:36has just run with it what he's doing on first take what he's doing on funky fridays what he's doing
37:43on fourth and one what he's doing in the city of atlanta when it comes i don't know if it's a
37:48fellowship but you should be um and also what he has done right here on 106 and sports as someone who
37:54has seen you work from afar it has been a huge privilege for me to share this stage with you and
38:00to see your growth in the media space so mine would be for you oh man listen with that being said well
38:09i got you guys attention bro it takes nothing to pick up a camera you now by doing so have become
38:16a content creator if you have a smartphone we always hear it don't be a dummy with a smartphone
38:24it's so much that your phone can offer you and it can offer you opportunity content pays and
38:30content is king so there are so many different stories that could be told even with this
38:35experience that we've seen you could do this as well sitting in those seats and sitting at home
38:40like the cars like the drew skis they started with an idea but an idea is just an idea until
38:47you put some energy into it absolutely i want everybody in the audience to get up on their feet
