00:52We have an oldest daughter who's 26 and we were fortunate to have twin girls and they're 23 now.
00:59I recently retired from teaching.
01:01And after my years in the pharmaceutical industry, I became a professor at a school of business.
01:06We currently live in a home in our house back on the golf course.
01:10We'd like to go from grass backyard to a water backyard.
01:13On my wish list, I would really love a gourmet kitchen because I love to cook for my family.
01:19I would like to have a green build and maybe have more adaptability in the home to make it more green.
01:24Maybe have a charging station for our car in the garage.
01:27And the ensuite, I want the soaker tab.
01:30The lake view is the most important thing to have.
01:33I love to barbecue.
01:34I'm looking for a designated area where I could do my cooking.
01:38I'm hoping for our dock.
01:39It will hold a motorboat.
01:41I really like high ceilings.
01:44Just that feeling of spaciousness inside.
01:47After 40 years, I still love having Joanne near me and looking at her beautiful face.

03:08The windows go from the floor to the ceiling, as well as the natural stone that was on the exterior of the home.
03:13They also brought in to make this gas fireplace look as natural as possible.

03:20I like that you can actually see the shore on the other side.
03:23It's really quaint.
03:24The beautiful fireplace with the stone, it really has a great feel to it.
03:28I would prefer a wood-burning fireplace because I don't like the idea of burning the fossil fuels.
03:34This fireplace is not chimneys, so it would have to remain gas.
03:39But I'm really happy to hear the positives notes so far.

04:05You also have a big table in the dining room overlooking the lake.
04:08I like when I'm cooking that I can have people sitting at the bar and I can talk to them.

04:17A room to hide all my clutter.
04:18You've got the quartz countertops, the undermount sink, two wine fridges over there.
04:24Well, now we know where to come for the wine.

04:30It's a pretty good size.
04:32And it's got nice windows.
04:33You actually have your own private walkout.
04:36You've got the tray ceilings and you have a beautiful closet.
04:40Yes, that's got some great space.
04:42And there's another primary bedroom along with two other bedrooms upstairs as well.
04:46I like the room, though I wish the bed was positioned so we could enjoy the great view.
04:51You can actually switch the position of your bed so that you're facing the lake.
04:56And right behind us is the en suite.

05:04You've got a glass tiled shower, double vanity and quartz countertops.
05:09You've got a beautiful design tile.
05:11It has everything that we need, but it just doesn't have that small feeling that I'm looking for.
05:16Yeah, it doesn't have a wow, does it?
05:18Okay, so I think this room might have been a miss, but I have a very special room that I want to show you.
05:25Oh, yes, now this is great.
05:28So we've got almost 400 square feet of covered deck space here.
05:32I like, I feel like I'm outside in the nature, but I don't have to worry about the bugs.
05:36I think it would be a great idea to have the barbecue right ready to use.
05:40It's a good idea.
05:41I want to show you something by the lakeside that's really going to blow your mind.
05:45This is incredible.

05:48Fantastic view.
05:49We're standing on top of the same boulders that were out front, except right here we've shaved it down for a beautiful lounge area.
05:57We're nice and elevated here.
05:59You can see the entire lakefront.
06:00I like how they actually cleared out some of the trees so you can actually see the lake too.
06:05The dock, it is a little small.
06:07We've got 200 feet of lakefront, so you can add a larger dock.

06:34I don't see the value in the interior of the home, but for the exterior, I do see the value.
06:40Andrew, I was amazed by the boulders.
06:42The granite was absolutely fantastic.
06:45Walking into the great room, I love the height of the ceilings and the view of the lake.
06:49I just wish it was not a gas fireplace.
06:53I did like the openness of the kitchen, and I love the view of the lake from the kitchen sink.
06:58Walking into the ensuite, it didn't have that spa wow factor.
07:03When I walked outside and I saw that lakefront, it was fabulous.
07:07But I'd like to see another home with a bigger dock.
07:10And a nicer ensuite with a soaker tub.
07:12I'll see what I can find for you and set it up.
07:14I think the outside is really what makes this property special.
07:17However, the dock was underwhelming.
07:20And the ensuite, it's not what we're looking for.
07:22Hopefully, Andrew will find us the perfect house when we go to see another one.

09:43You've got the soaker tub, the walk-in piled shower.
09:47There is only one sink, but there is enough space there to make it a dual sink.
09:52I was looking for that spa en suite, and this is it.

09:57I can see us putting in dual sinks, and that would work very well for us.

11:02I can see us going down to the beach area and launching our kayaks or our paddleboard.
11:07But this is a lot of space, and I'm just not sure we'll be using it all.
11:12It is quite a large space for just the two of you, but now that we've seen the entire property,

11:40I thought it would be more considering that outside space.
11:43Walking into the house, the views of the lake were absolutely phenomenal.
11:47I was pretty impressed with the size of the kitchen.
11:49The only issue is there isn't a dining area for when we have our family over.
11:53Walking into the ensuite, I was really surprised how large it was.
11:57And it had that spa feel that I'm looking for.
12:00When we went outside, there was a barbecue, there was a pizza oven.
12:05It had everything.
12:06And that sun deck, that was phenomenal.
12:08It may be that the sun deck is too big and the house is too small.
12:12Perhaps we could see a bigger house.
12:14I can set that up.
12:15The lakefront is fantastic.
12:17It has everything that we want.
12:19But this house is small for us.
12:21I don't know that it would work.

12:34The second house was a four-bedroom home with a resort-like backyard.
12:39Paradise Point is a 2,800-square-foot home with four bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms.
12:45The open concept main floor has oak vaulted ceilings.
12:49The kitchen is a mix of industrial and country design.
12:53The primary bedroom has a gas fireplace.
12:56Outside, the property is situated on a peninsula with a boathouse on one side and a large dock on the other,
13:02all sitting on 350 feet of water frontage.
13:06Derek and Joanne want to sell their property on the golf course and exchange it for a property on the lake.

13:32You're immediately greeted with large windows that go up 25 feet, and then you've got this stacked stone fireplace.
13:41I think the natural stone is really nice, and the view is fantastic.

13:52Oh, this is really nice.
13:54It is special.
13:56The cellar did an amazing job blending the country and the industrial feel to this kitchen.
14:02This countertop is a polished granite made to look like concrete.
14:06You've got the industrial range hood.
14:08You've got a full, beautiful live edge dining table there.
14:12The granite countertop suits the kitchen.
14:15I can see myself cooking at this kitchen, although I do wish it was more part of the room.
14:20I think if I'm cooking at the range hood, I have my back to everyone.
14:23Based on this design, there's not too much we can do about that.
14:26However, I'm really hoping that the primary wins you back over.
14:30Oh, this is really nice.
14:32You've got amazing views of the lake.
14:35I know you don't have a bed facing the lake, but you've got a beautiful view of this natural gas fireplace.
14:41It's petite, but I think it has enough space for us.
14:44But I'm not a huge lover of burning fossil fuels, so I would prefer a wood-burning fireplace.
14:49But this orientation works because you're facing the fireplace when you're in bed.
14:54Upstairs, you have three more bedrooms and two more bathrooms.
14:57That's great.
14:58Don't forget about the primary ensuite.

19:00Walking into that home, the floor-to-ceiling windows really showed off the view of the lake.
19:06I was pretty impressed with the size of the kitchen.
19:08But because there's no dining room, that might be a problem for us.
19:12That en suite had that soaker tub I have been looking for.
19:15And when we stepped out of that house, there was a boathouse.
19:18There was even a rooftop deck.
19:21My only concern about that property is that maybe it's too small.
19:24I'd love to know what you thought about Paradise Point.

20:15The exterior of the property was absolutely beautiful.

20:26When we get older, all those rocks and going up and down, it just would get to be too much for us.
