00:18Can you believe after all these years we are finally going to look for a house?
00:24I'm like so super excited about this, it's not even funny, I can't wait.

00:29And I'm Jamie.
00:30We've known each other for 25 years.
00:31And we've been married for 14 years.
00:33We're looking to move to PEI and enjoy riding our motorcycles and having a beautiful oceanfront property that we can enjoy and relax in every day.

00:49We've been living in Georgetown, Ontario for the last 20 years and we are looking to escape the rat rates and the hustle and bustle and traffic.
00:58I work in a technology company as a performance specialist.
01:02And I'm a product manager in the life sciences industry.
01:06We've met at work.
01:07It was love at first sight for me, but...
01:09Not at first sight for me.
01:11We have two Frenchies, Gaston and Oliver.
01:16They're only a year old, so they're very active and keeping us busy all the time.
01:21They're always into something.
01:22They're a handful, but we love them.
01:24To me, sea was always magical because I only got to go there in the summer to the Adriatic coast in Croatia and that first sight of sea when you crest the mountain and you see it, it was always special.
01:40So I always had this dream of living on the water and listening to the waves and just smelling the sea.
01:47The salt air is amazing.
01:49Being able to be on the ocean and do water sports and have fun swimming.
01:53It's just been something we've always wanted to be able to do every day if we could.
01:58We did a road trip in 2017 through the Atlantic Canada.
02:03And when we stepped onto PI, it just spoke to us.
02:05There was something about the red earth and the blue sky and the blue sea and the green.
02:10And we've been wanting to move here ever since.
02:15The wish list for the new house is a waterfront view.
02:19That is number one for me.
02:21At least four bedrooms.
02:23We need two offices.
02:24We need primary bedroom and at least one to accommodate people.
02:27A large garage so that we have room for our cars, our motorcycles.
02:32A large kitchen with a pantry.
02:34I need a pantry.
02:36Also has to be really close to a curling club because I love curling and so does my wife.
02:42We are getting older, so my main concern is that we have main floor living.
02:47The primary bedroom needs to be on the main floor.
02:50We're also going to need a fairly large yard because we have two pups that love to run around.
02:56We are not open to renovations.
02:58I have no desire whatsoever.
02:59The budget for the new house is supposed to be 1.2 million.

03:05If we find a place that calls out to us, I don't mind going past the budget a bit.

04:16And it's also close to a curling club, which I know is important for Yaz and Jamie.

18:23But the problem was it did not have a very good view.

18:29We would have to share an office.
18:30I love you, dear, but I don't want to share an office.

18:40Well, let's talk about the second house that we saw, the Sapphire Shore.
18:43That was a beauty.
18:45You cannot beat that view.
18:48That house did have five bedrooms.
18:50We would have no problems having separate offices in opposite sides of the house.
18:55So we'd never have to hear each other.
18:56And we'd still have room for guests because you'd still have two spare bedrooms.

19:00And all the bedrooms did have bathrooms.
19:02And it did have a pantry.
19:03So I can't complain there.
19:04But it was not the pantry of the first house.
19:07No, it wasn't.
19:08That house was $1.3 million.
19:10Well above our budget.
19:12A bitter pill to swallow, I suppose.

20:25We've had so much fun.
20:27And the people are really welcoming here and so friendly.
20:30So we both have our own offices and they're at opposite ends of the house, which is great.

20:37Oliver and Gaston get to live the good life now.
20:40They get to have walks multiple times a day and go out on the beach.
20:44They just love it.
20:45We love having a garage that can accommodate our motorcycles.
20:49And we love getting suited up and out on the road.
20:52It's so much fun.
20:53Getting lost in PEI is the best ever.
20:56We'll grow old here and enjoy the rest of our lives.
