Arthur’s Ride, the winner of the 2024 GI Whitney Stakes, has joined the Taylor Made roster for 2026 and will look to continue the legacy of his sire Tapit.
00:00Arthur's Ride always stood out on the racetrack as a striking image of his sire Tappet.
00:06In 2026, the Grade 1 Whitney winner will continue his sire's legacy as he begins his stud career at TaylorMade Farm.
00:21Arthur's Ride arrived here about a month ago. He's let down really nice. He's filled out, put on a good weight.
00:27He's a very beautiful horse, extremely well received. We had a ton of breeders out here and the response has been overwhelming so far and we're just looking forward to getting started.
00:37He was a horse that, you know, once he won the Grade 1 Whitney, he obviously was on our radar, I'm sure, along with everybody else in the industry.
00:46I think a lot of people forget that Arthur's Ride was a pretty good two-year-old. He made two starts and ran second and both starts at Saratoga for Bill Mott.
00:53Bill Mott's not one that always has his two-year-old geared up that early, but this horse obviously showed signs of a lot of ability and precociousness.
01:05The race before the Whitney, where he won by 12.5 lengths, he ran a 1.11 buyer speed figure and he came right back after that and had an amazing performance in the Whitney,
01:15you know, where he ran a 1.10 buyer and beat some really nice horses. I mean, I think that really showed us, I mean, the talent level.
01:22I mean, it takes a very, very good horse to run back-to-back races, you know, with those kind of speed figures.
01:27...to go and Arthur's Ride still has a commanding lead. What a tremendous debut at stakes competition. The Grade 1 Whitney to Arthur's Ride.
01:38For all of our standing prospects, I think speed is very important in the industry. I mean, people like, you know, the fast, precocious.
01:45But with him, I think, you know, not only did he have great speed, but he could carry a distance.
01:49He's out of a champion mare and he's a half, you know, a half-brother to a champion two-year-old fillies.
01:54So Arthur's Ride was purchased by Donato Lanning as a yearling, I think, and Donato is obviously one of the best judges in the game, I think.
02:01So that speaks volumes. He looks a lot like Tappet, you know, to begin with.
02:05I think there's a lot more of him as far as physically. He's a bigger, stronger version of Tappet.
02:10He should allow breeders just more opportunities, I think, physically to match up with him.
02:16Very classy horse. I mean, good-minded. Even Bill Mott spoke very highly of his mind and his quality and just one of his best features.
02:31Now, to start to see on his mind.
02:36He's bringing him to the S takes a few moments.
02:40You know, when he calls himself to the S takes a few moments, he sees us a little bit of a change.
02:44So, he's like, if he's a guy, he wants to do the S takes a few moments, he sees us.
02:47So this is, and he's like, who's going to be a big product, you've got hismand.
02:50He sees him. He's kind of like a thing.
02:52So I don't like this.
02:53I don't like this.
02:54He's good.
02:55Now, to go to the S takes a few moments.
02:56So I'm going to give you a little bit of an eye here.
