00:00Briefly shifting our focus now to the world of sports.
00:02This is FIFA President Gianni Infantino's prize, the football world, on Friday
00:07by presenting U.S. President Donald Trump with the inaugural FIFA Peace Prize.
00:12The award selected solely by Infantino from a short list of one
00:16was handed over at Washington's Kennedy Center.
00:19Trump called it one of the greatest honors of his life, claiming he saved millions of lives.
00:25Infantino cited Trump's role in the Abraham Accords, the Gaza Peace Deal,
00:30and a Rwanda DRC agreement, praising him as a leader that cares about the people.
00:36The move raised eyebrows given FIFA's long-stated commitment to political neutrality
00:41under its Code of Ethics.
00:46Thank you very much. This is truly one of the great honors of my life.
00:50We saved millions and millions of lives.
00:53The Congo is an example. Over 10 million people killed,
00:56and it was heading for another 10 million very quickly.
00:58And it just, you know, the fact that we could do that, India, Pakistan,
01:03so many different wars that we were able to end,
01:06in some cases a little bit before they started, just right before they started.
01:11It was going to be late.
