00:00In ways we did not expect, we experienced an earthquake that shook our communities and Typhoon Tino that brought flooding, sleepless nights, and uncertainty to many of our families.
00:28Yet, in the middle of all those challenges, something became very clear.
00:35Mandawe is strongest when we were as one.
00:40And that is why being here with the Chamber tonight is meaningful.
00:45Because the business community has proven time and time again that you are not just partners in economic growth, you are partners in compassion, in resilience, and in service.
01:00When the earthquake hit, your teams responded with donations, manpower, and resources.
01:07When the Typhoon came, many of you reached out even...
01:11And that is also what I would like to advocate from all of you that this is by far the most comprehensive and holistic solution.
01:28I mean, it would take another discussion, lengthy discussion if you talk about it.
01:34But when I started out as vice governor in my term, this term, then we experienced sets of flooding.
01:44Flooding with just the recent, the biggest one was the Baguong Tino and the most recent was the flooding that also hit some LGUs in the southern part of the province of Sioux.
02:00So we continue to talk about it and it's a good thing that our beloved Mayor has also put this in one of the priority agenda of the city.
02:11And as Chamber, as a Chamber, we are very relevant in pursuing this as a solution.
02:19Because when there's flooding, it hurts business.
02:23So again, may nga gabi kaninyang tanaman.
02:27First of all, allow me to extend my deepest congratulations to the Madawi Chamber of Commerce and Industry for another meaningful year.
02:35Earlier this afternoon, I've heard we just elected a new set of directors.
02:40And the entire set of directors will elect who will lead and the set of officers that will govern MCCI.
02:51One marked not only by business achievements, but by compassion, action, and genuine service in the community.
03:00We have all seen how Cebu has been tested this year by calamities, challenges, and controversies that have shaken many of our people.
03:10In moments like these, it is easy to feel discouraged.
03:15But tonight reminds us of something important.
03:19That hope is real because people choose to show up.
03:24And MCCI has always shown up.
03:29There you go.
03:30This is right for me.
03:31I see you.
03:32See you.
03:33It's the last thing.
03:34I will see you in the moment.
03:35I will see you in the next one.
03:36We'll see you next time.
