The UK spends billions per year on net zero and green energy initiatives. Can you afford higher bills and do you support that spending on green energy?

00:00One wind turbine can take between 5 and 15 years to recoup its price.
00:04I suppose we're investing in the future.
00:06If these things lasted a little bit longer, maybe it would be worth it.
00:09Yes, I do pay more for green energy and I'm very willing to do so,
00:13though because solar is so much cheaper now than fossil fuels,
00:18we should all be paying less.
00:20I've used energy providers in the past, specifically green energy providers,
00:25and their standing charges or their daily rates were higher.
00:30Then I could have paid because I was plumping for the green deal or the green version.
00:36I think Ed Miliband should have been sacked long ago with his net zero.
00:42He's destroying our economy.
00:44I pay more, but I want to know how it was done.
00:48Not just, here's the green energy, now you pay us a percentage more money,
00:52which is an issue in my opinion, that a lot of the big energy companies
00:56are kind of finding out that they have to explain themselves.
00:59And they can't.
