Analysis: Xiaohongshu Issues Stem From Foreign Platform Regulation Problems

Taiwan is implementing a year-long ban on Chinese social media app Xiaohongshu to crack down on fraud and cyberattacks. Doublethink researcher Eric Hsu says the platform's lack of a Taiwan-based communications channel makes the app hard to regulate.

00:00The government said that it's restricting小红书 for a year because of the risks of fraud and cyber attacks.

00:06How prominent are those risks on this platform versus others?

00:30The two years have over 1,700件 of fraud, and the risk of fraud is over 1.5 million.
