00:29I live two blocks from here in South Minneapolis, I'm from South Minneapolis.
00:47And when I heard that President Trump was sending his ICE goons into my community, I
00:54decided to come out here. This morning, around 8.30 or so, I saw an attempted abduction of
01:01a Hispanic man just down the block right here. Three ICE cars came around, and they stopped
01:09this man on the bridge just down there, and then they started accosting him, attempting
01:15to put him in their car. I went down there, started recording with my phone, and blowing
01:22my whistle here to disrupt them, to let people in the area know what was happening. I don't
01:28know, like, dozens and dozens of people in the Hispanic or Somali communities, but I know
01:33they're my neighbors. I live next to them. They contribute to the richness of this community.
01:39I grew up here, grew up around a ton of Hispanic and Somali people. They're normal, no different
01:45than anyone else.
01:46So there have been multiple reports in community of immigration enforcement in different parts
01:54of the city. There's a lot of fear that people have, even individuals who were born in the United
02:02States and people who are naturalized U.S. citizens.
02:06The ICE is here. They are going door-to-door. They are stopping folks on the streets, and
02:21they're not just targeting undocumented. They're targeting every Somali person. It feels like
02:28we are in, I don't know how to explain it, a war zone. I feel like people are, like, afraid
02:33to get out of their houses. I am getting calls from my resident that I represent, the city
02:38of Minneapolis, saying that, what should I do? Should I come out of the house?
02:42The fear among the Somali community is real. Like, this mall, if you come to, like, around
02:49noon, nobody's here. It is deserted. Every business is closed. And it has been like this for the last
02:55three days. And we are really, as small business owners, I'm scared that people are not showing
03:00up to buy from me. I don't want to close my business. They don't want to come out. And
03:05a lot of businesses are closed. They are not able to come and work and pay their rent. So
03:09I don't know what's going to happen. The future today, as of today, the future doesn't look
03:14right.
03:15Collectively, the Somali community is fearful. You could see around the mall a lot of vacant
03:21stores, a lot of closed stores, and no foot traffic. People are hiding in their homes.
03:27It feels very irresponsible of him. I know we've all become accustomed to him acting very rash
03:34and just saying whatever he feels at the moment. But that's no way to run a country. And that's
03:40no way to be the leader of the free world.
03:42The Somalians should be out of here. They've destroyed our country. And all they do is complain,
03:48complain, complain.
03:57What are some other things that you should be doing to follow under your啦 about maybe
04:12what it's going on?
04:13What's that mean?
04:14Let me know my time.
04:15I stopped on him.
04:16I feel like I'm stuck on before時間.
04:18What are some other things thatikatetus said?
04:20Everyone acted.
