00:37things going well forrester great yeah i mean you know i'm still on trial period but i'm really

00:45enjoying it it's got to be exciting you're working with your sister and designing with her

00:51yeah i mean you know dream come true all of it well the dream fully comes true once i'm

00:57leading the design team not just on it that's the goal anyone can do it it's my talented son

01:02i see he's inherited your sense of ambition well big goals are important sure

01:21still forget you are surrounded by amazing talent over there um yeah yeah i know i mean

01:29i'm really enjoying working with zenday learning from him and i've studied thomas's design work

01:36extensively but at the same time i have my own style and fashion sense and i need to remember

01:43to lean into it and hope it's ultimately what they'll want absolutely listen don't worry about

01:48copying anyone else you just develop your skills all right you know uniqueness authenticity that sells

05:23um actually i feel pretty confident about things pretty positive

05:32how was thanksgiving i'm assuming hope and deke steered clear

05:37yeah i don't know it's like it's like sometimes i feel like i'm making progress with them

05:43you know like today deke was over at the restaurant and um you know he was perfectly polite with sheila

05:49i mean they're you know they're not embracing or anything but i mean i think it's a start

05:53as far as all of us spending thanksgiving dinner together we're not quite there yet

05:59i spent time with the kids and sheila and i had a really nice dinner for two you know

06:04we talked about gratitude um things we're thankful for

06:08your name came up

06:11sheila's incredibly grateful that i came back to her

06:15she uh she gives you all the credit

06:18sheila believes that you saved their marriage

06:21borrster creations only exist because of eric

06:29his dedication his talent

06:32nobody's denying that

06:35ridge understands the legacy he's inherited

06:37see that that there that's exactly it

06:41they haven't inherited anything because eric's still here thank god we're all so grateful

06:52especially rich really well maybe if he could just express it once in a while

07:01he should welcome working with his father again

07:06it's not up to me donna whatever is decided

07:17you can't be surprised at this rich of course i want to step in and do this beautiful collection with my son of course

07:23well you've already done it we've done this you did a final line and it was amazing it was gorgeous

07:42no i didn't step away i haven't put a pencil down since i left the company

07:51no you are one of the greatest designers in the world dad you you changed fashion who can say that

07:56nobody you did that and now it's time to do something else

08:01go off into the sunset do something that's what i would do if i were in your shoes

08:05you're not in my shoes rich

08:08you can't possibly know what it feels like for me to be standing here in this room like this right now

08:21do you remember what it's like

08:27hard work the sleepless nights

08:30you know what you did you asked me to do that

08:33and i'm doing it i can do it i'll take the frustration i'll take the headaches

08:51why is this the reoccurring theme in my life

09:11yeah i changed i changed because of your father truly and and i would love

09:15nothing more than to just live a nice simple life with him now

09:24look at this it's not entirely true

09:27because i would love to be accepted embraced by his children

09:37i think you and hope you dad me

09:47we're a family

09:48i realize that sheila is appreciative but i can't take credit for that

09:58i mean you can downplay it all you want but sheila thinks that you are the great savior that rescued our relationship

10:03look marriage family acceptance love the these things mean more to sheila than you can imagine

10:12i'm happy for the two of you

10:15if the acceptance is really there

10:20do you think that sheila will ever really be accepted by your family

10:32of course eric should be on the design team he created this entire company

10:38look let's just here sit down sit down okay

10:48haven't you been enjoying all this time that you've been spending with eric

10:53right all the day trips you've been taking and that cruise you guys had together

10:59i mean none of that would have happened if eric was still working

11:05and now what you want him back in the office every single day

11:10you know how he is when he throws himself back into work

11:12no he's gonna be the first one here in the morning and he's gonna be the last to leave at night

11:17no i'm not gonna let him push himself to his limit like that not not not after what happened last

11:23year now would i prefer to have him all to myself 24 7 of course

11:31but that that wouldn't really be fair of me to ask him to give up something that he loves so much

11:37it wouldn't really be fair of rich either please get through to him because eric he needs this

11:48he needs to be in the thick of things he he can't just be some figurehead watching from afar

11:54eric is and always will be a designer

12:03until his dying day

12:06you're telling me it's frustration and heartache and how difficult it is you're telling me this

12:12none of that matters because in the end you have this collection in the beautiful gowns

12:16yes beautiful and yes it's all worth it but it's not worth putting your life on the line for it

12:21it's not worth it let us do what we do and then come back and watch the show you know just

12:26and watch this watch the show i don't do that i don't mean that that's that's not what i'm

12:31i mean go up on the stage talk to the buyers to talk to yeah i love that i love that

12:36but richard's the work itself the work itself is covered dad is covered

13:16you know what i'm really excited about your sister's wedding oh yeah you uh you like weddings

13:29oh my gosh of course i mean who doesn't like a wedding i mean the romance the

13:35the fact that two people are committing their lives to one another but this wedding it gives me the

13:41opportunity to show you and hope that i can be a part of your lives this is really so special

13:50and when i am at hope and lian's wedding on your dad's arm

13:56that's going to show everybody that the sharp family is truly united

14:01i don't know i have to hope that they will you know hope that hope and deke will

14:09eventually see sheila the way that i do it's like two steps forward one step back you know and

14:15unfortunately sheila covering for luna was an enormous step back and it's one that i don't know

14:21i don't know if they're going to be able to forgive it's understandable you struggled with it yourself

14:28yeah you know i don't blame them you know they're worried for me maybe another family session in the

14:36future yes especially because hope and liam's wedding's coming up it's a big day for your family

14:42yeah you don't want things to be uncomfortable do you think that sheila will be welcomed in an ideal

14:51world let's talk about the world we're in i don't know taylor she's my wife you know i mean she's

14:59technically hope's stepmother i'd like to think that hope would want her there but

15:05i gotta admit i don't know if she's gonna get an invitation and if she doesn't

15:09she's gonna be devastated

15:18hey hey how did that go how did it go with my dad you mean what did he want to talk about oh he

15:26never gotta believe it he wants to jump back on the couture line oh yeah i can believe it after some

15:32of the things that donna was telling me donna's encouraging this she's supposed to keep him healthy

15:37oh i think she was trying to in her own way you know his mental health and if he still wants to

15:42be a part of this i don't know if he wants to be part of it i don't know at this point it just seems

15:46like it's a habit you know and and but he's had such a great career but now it's over he's gotta hang

15:53it up what if he doesn't want to hang it up no one wants to hang it up no one wants to do that

15:59ask anybody any any professional athlete or or actor or model everything is great and then one

16:04day it's it's done it's over my dad at least he had a swan song he put this whole beautiful line

16:12together and it was great and it almost killed him almost put him in the ground i get it it's hard for

16:18him but it's my job to keep him safe okay you didn't tell him about the party did you i didn't tell

16:30him about the party what are you no no no still a surprise what did you say to him so that everything

16:37that he has in his life he's earned and that includes his right to walk away
