Protestors say the landfill would threaten farmland and waterways by bringing Perth’s waste into their tourist town.

00:00I live close to where the proponent wants to put the landfill and I think it's a
00:05terrible position for a landfill. It's beautiful, pristine farmland. There's a
00:09waterway that runs straight through the middle. Groundwater is being pushed up to
00:13the surface in this site. It has an Aboriginal birthing site in this footprint.
00:20It's a really big site, especially in the forest. 100 kilometres, people come there all the time.
00:27The fact that they just want to bring all the garbage to Perth and dump it 100km out, it's not even fixing it because it is going to poison the water for the people of Perth, it's going to poison the general area, it's going to poison the farmland if it leaches out. It's going to damage us in so many ways.
00:46We will be fighting this every step of the way to ensure that this tip does not go ahead.
