00:00Hello. Thank you very much.
00:04What does it mean for you to win this award?
00:12You kind of constantly question yourself as an actor if you're good enough or if you're
00:20kind of real enough or if you're deserving of anything and that's a constant
00:24thing that you're doing to yourself is kind of questioning your ability.
00:28And even to be nominated was like a real confidence
00:32boost in terms of thinking I am doing this, I can do this and then
00:36I've won it. So I'm kind of blown away by it
00:40because I've been acting for 20 years and
00:44never thinking you're good enough I suppose. And then to receive something
00:48like this is just a real, I suppose it's a wake up call to me to be like believe in
00:52yourself more because other people do. Thank you.
00:56Richard, Angela Bishop from Network in Australia.
01:00Hiya, thank you.
01:02So many of you have watched yourselves in the room for hours
01:04been watching this and take our eyes off you.
01:06Thanks.
01:08The world's your oyster now, we feel rumours of James Bond being offered to all those
01:14sort of things to celebrate.
01:16They are just rumours.
01:18What else is on the horizon for you?
01:20Really excited for me, Rocketman, the Elton John film's coming out.
01:24I'm really excited for that. I want to share that with everyone. It's totally different
01:28and it's Dexter Fletcher directing, he's in his element I think.
01:32Taron Egerton's outstanding so I look forward to sharing that.
01:36And what about who?
01:37Who knows? We're going to have to speak to Jed Mercurio.
01:39We're very open to it and so hopefully he's going to have some genius ideas.
01:43Do another one.
01:45Hiya.
01:46Hiya.
01:47Congratulations.
01:49Thanks.
01:50Do a singer, make it this morning and how, why, is that the whole process to you?
02:00It's going to have to be my parents, you know, since a kid.
02:02I don't come from any background that has any kind of actors in it or anything.
02:07They never understood what I did on the weekends or my weeknights when I went to youth theatre
02:13or rehearsed for productions or when I went for auditions and they'd have to drive me
02:18for hours somewhere to do it.
02:20But they never questioned it and they never discouraged it.
02:23They only encouraged me at all times.
02:26So it's really thanks to them that I'm even here.
02:29Thank you very much.
02:31I wanted to kind of, I wanted to get the ambiguity right, his moral ambiguity where he, his loyalties
02:48lie and if he, if he's good or bad.
02:51So that's something I kind of wanted to play with and just change the temperature of all
02:55the time.
02:56And I wanted to convey the PTSD side of this man in a way that I had not seen in television
03:05and film as much before.
03:07This kind of, the subtlety to it and the, the old, the old day living with something.
03:12It's not just kind of key events that can trigger this, that you can live with something.
03:16So I had to kind of work out how to do that in a genuine and empathetic way.
03:21Thank you so much.
03:23Thank you very much.
03:24Congratulations.
03:25Thank you everyone.
03:26Thank you so much.
