00:00You know the phrase to sound the alarm? Well, there are common sounds in your home that should
00:05raise your alarm bells. HuffPost has reported these audio cues for potential hazardous issues.
00:11Let's start with ones associated with water. Rushing water and dripping faucets shouldn't
00:17be ignored. Water damages can be one of the most common and costly home insurance claims
00:22that come up for homeowners, says Courtney Klosterman, a Home Insights expert. Why?
00:27It can mean that water is moving through your pipes consistently, which signals a leak.
00:32Plumber Kelly Island says you can ignore your dripping faucet, but then soon the leak will
00:38turn into a trickle and then the trickle will turn into a stream and your water bills are really going
00:44to pay. Other sounds include buzzing from lights, call a licensed electrician, and whistling or hissing
00:50from gas-based appliances. In regards to the latter, Klosterman says it's recommended that you remove
00:56yourself and your family immediately from the home.
