00:11oh I really like the way you do work she likes furniture she's like saying all these flattering
00:16things about me she's like oh I like how you look because I have some photos of me in there you know
00:20and she's like I'd like to meet you you know here's the thing on the return address on the
00:28envelope it's from a correctional facility
00:31Jersey I'm getting jail mail dude
00:36Danny D what's up Mr. Wolf what's going on man how's the weather back there I was talking to my
00:56sister the other day she said it was five degrees well I have the heater sitting under my desk and
01:02if I'm not sweating it's not hot enough so what's this pic you've been talking about for the last
01:06few days it's legendary all right I'm gonna send you to a guy who's got movie props western film
01:11stuff like western stuff from what time period the golden age of Hollywood baby really yeah I mean
01:18he's got costumes he's got wardrobes he's also got a few monster things too dang on top of that
01:25he got his start with Elvis back in the day this legendary pick is somebody you're gonna be familiar
01:30with are you talking about Al Fleming bingo the legendary Al Fleming Al was the guy that we picked
01:39a few years back and he had an incredible story I spent years at MGM Studios I loved every minute of it
01:45the guy worked in Hollywood when the western was still blowing up the box office he was a stuntman
01:51a special effects makeup artist and then got into wardrobe making costumes the guy is a legend
01:59no kidding I'm going to Al Fleming's today hey Hollywood loves a sequel oh man I mean he's been buying
02:06so much more really now he's into an entirely new type of collecting he's into world war two
02:12memorabilia really yeah there's just so much stuff there oh my gosh I can't wait to see such a great
02:19dude he's stoked he's expecting you let him know I'm excited to see him you got it be safe talk to you
02:25soon bye
02:26oh man this is so cool oh my gosh
02:43it's so good to see you look at I'm gonna give you one of these anyway you know Danielle didn't
02:56tell me I was coming here until today I think it's been like six years when I first met Mike
03:01we had a lot of fun and I thought about the time he and Frank were here I enjoyed it the guys were
03:06great we found it so I decided to let a few things go and I don't feel bad about it you've been buying
03:12more or selling more both you know what I don't think it's ever going to leave us is it things are
03:17getting harder to find though oh I know they are hey I got to ask about this stuff yeah this is my
03:21Elkhorn graveyard originally what I was going to do I was saving all these things I was going to build
03:27an Elkhorn chair and this last summer I got them all laid out there and figured if I built a chair
03:33it's going to weigh about three or four hundred pounds this one's decent Al worked in an industry
03:38where they had to make something out of nothing every single day you know so when you look at his
03:43aesthetic with this pile of antlers all of that is still in his blood he wanted to make something
03:48out of them that's what's great about him and he has an incredible eye what are you doing with these
03:53antlers I mean you could mount them just the way they are there can be jewelry made out of them there
04:06could be lamps made out of them all of a sudden your home becomes so much more worldly lodgy more
04:11traveled all this stuff is timeless five hundred bucks all right send us a coordinates all right
04:26have fun Danny's got a great lead for us she's sending us to see Terry Terry was a racing promoter
04:32and once he retired he built himself a complete general store to house his collection look what's
04:38behind these houses I don't think you're going the right way dude this is the directions it's taking
04:43me right here right there see oh yeah yeah dude that's cool wow that looks like a freaking general
04:52store from drive on johnham down store check out that freaking nova sitting in the driveway look at this
04:58place oh yeah nice car man they must be terry i'm period how you doing nice to see you talk to danielle
05:08on the phone talk to danielle on the phone i'm john you're john yeah nice to meet you man what's up with
05:14the nova all original 1973 73 yeah it's straight what motor got in it 305 got the v8 gloves gas
05:25terry is my kind of guy he's got a 1970s nova all original paint with a v8 in it my buddy growing up
05:31had one of these things all souped up big fat tires let me ask you this is this car for sale no one would
05:38ever pay what it would take to buy it i'd have a hard time selling something that was my dad's yeah
05:43since it was my dad's there's a lot of sentimental value to it i'll probably keep it the rest of my
05:49life so danny said you did racing promotions i've been in there this is nascar country in the nascar
05:54country yes yes have you ever had any big names dale earnhardt one time you had dale earnhardt you
06:00were on your track yeah on the dirt track dale earnhardt was rookie of the year he raced against the
06:05locals for me dale earnhardt to define a promoter he's a gambler he puts an event together and he
06:12gambles that people show up to pay the bills as well as a profit mainly it would be dirt track racing
06:19cars i was the manager of four different dirt tracks we would have twelve fifteen hundred people
06:25in attendance and i was in love with it i never had a desire to drive a race car i had a desire to sell
06:32tickets sure sure right i love anything to do with speed i'm a motorcycle guy i like mechanics i like
06:37the way things go fast it's so cool to go to a big national race that's on television but it's cooler to
06:43go to a regional race because it's guys who are local these are guys who are building cars in your garage
06:48that just want to get out there on saturday night and have a good time and to show up their skills
06:53dale earnhardt started in the dirt just like these guys all right boys let me show you the shop here we
06:58have some racing planes in here photos and so on oh man what's going on with this what's this i don't
07:08know for sure that came off of merle haggard's old railroad car they lived in back and forth when he
07:14was on the road really but i don't know what that he said was railroad but crc so you knew him pretty
07:20well yeah really he had buck owens what were those guys like merle we used to go over he had a place
07:25out in the middle of nowhere and we'd take our buzzer loading rifles and teepees out there and
07:29shoot muscle loading rifles no kidding you guys would just be camping out there i said would he
07:33bust out the guitar around the fire yeah would he really wow a couple drinks and he'd bust out all
07:38kind of stuff around the fire al's out playing lonesome dub with merle haggard i mean come on what a
07:45life this guy's had i mean where do you find stuff like this authentic what do you value that at would
07:51you sell that what you think you tell me i don't know i mean i don't either i don't know reasonable
07:58offer 125. sold all right that's so cool let's go inside it's getting cold out here all right i got
08:06you i got you welcome to my abode oh yeah my 30 abodey yeah you do have more in here man i look at
08:14the walls this is my life and it gives me a warm feeling i feel like i really accomplish something in
08:19my life look at the energy you exchanged with people on set and all and the fact that you weren't
08:24just on set you were creating things on set that was fun for me it's so cool to walk around and see
08:30all these photographs on the walls of all the people they worked with and what they're saying
08:35when they write something they all respected him he's got so much to be proud of and i'm honored
08:41to walk through this stuff with him man what's this movie poster right here that came from a trash
08:47bed at engine studios back in the 60s really it's hand painted on linen 1928 they had thrown it out
08:54i went that's pretty cool i was a dumpster diver people thought i was crazy dragging all this junk out
09:01of the dumpsters i was going into prop departments looking at the old musty corners and dragging stuff
09:06out and i go what do you want that old crap for to me it was treasure just magical stuff i was a junk man
09:14is it the artwork for the poster no this is the poster but how would they reproduce them then
09:19they didn't that's the one oh that's it oh so this would have been in a theater specifically for
09:24gary cooper in doomsday with an all-star cast acclaimed one of the greatest movies ever made
09:32i've never seen one painted like that wow i just thought it was neat because coop was in it i got to
09:36meet gary cooper a few years before he passed so i got to sit down and talk to him as a kid my heroes
09:42were the western movie stars you see on the matinee on saturday movies i mean i couldn't imagine
09:47beating these people so to me it's a fairy tale i mean i my whole life has been one adventure after
09:53the next can i make you an offer on it yeah but i won't take it that's my favorite poster you make
09:58an awful big hole in the wall i put a note on it when i kick the buck i'll have my kid call mike and
10:04i'll give it to him he'll own it one day all right all right all right oh my gosh walking into al's
10:10place is overwhelming it's almost like there was an earthquake at the smithsonian and most of it
10:16ended up on al's floor there's stuff everywhere there's native american stuff there's world war
10:20one world war ii cowboy stuff jewelry pottery i mean he lives in his collection and i'm that same way
10:27when you come in my house there's probably about two or three different coffee tables well guess what
10:32you can't see the top of them because there's a lot of different things i know you're into world
10:36war ii stuff what about any like patches or anything like that yeah i do have some patches
10:42over here somewhere if i can find them dang man if you're lucky oh my god are you kidding me
10:50no way see i tried to categorize this is all airborne army air force oh my god it's incredible
10:56most of this though is world war ii or latest korea wow al is a collector's collector he's got such
11:02elevated things and such interesting and historical pieces that it's amazing to be at his home here at
11:09this time in his life when he wants to sell some of this stuff what about that one this is flying
11:14tigers this is like that lighter i bought off you that's cool this belonged to a fighter pilot that was
11:19a member of the flying tigers okay this is a china burma india sign his name was stevenson 354
11:26thank you i love it during world war ii china was our ally the flying tigers were basically american
11:33pilots that were volunteers that went to china to fight against japan during world war ii and that's
11:39a nice hand-painted leather patch too yeah well this would go great with that lighter would you take 200
11:44for this one if you talk to me nice i love you brother okay i've got that lighter i've got it right on my
11:51coffee table right next to my incense burner so this would be cool with that i would have sold it
11:57oh my gosh i love it this is going to go great with it thank you he's got the lighter he ought to
12:02have the patch because i'd make a great display on it it came from the same person so it's got a good
12:07home they're back together again a lot of photos in here man wow what's the guy is that a jet car
12:19there or something what's going on with that i think it's already affront isn't it well what the
12:23heck's he in that looks like some bonneville he's on bonneville bonneville that's a pretty cool photo
12:28world land speed record the green monster wow you want to sell that photo yeah i care about this
12:33photo because it's salt flat racing the salt flats is where some of the most amazing speed records are
12:39attained to this day because it is a flat piece of ground salt that is dead flat for miles and miles
12:47and you could run a vehicle as fast as it can possibly go it's god's country for racing for
12:53speed 40 bucks all right 40 40 40 thank you please
13:02this is cool how about this you know what that is don't you that's for incense yeah you put incense
13:08i think i like to keep it i burn incense every morning while i'm reading you do yeah yeah i do
13:13i do 40 push-ups burn some incense read my book drink nine cups of coffee and then start my day
13:21sometimes 12. and you're wound tight oh i'm already wound tight what's up with this guy who's that that's
13:26a wax guy he's got cowboy look tom i'm funny i'll go to buy an oddball piece that i never bought before
13:32and go that's pretty neat so i've branched out into things that aren't interesting or different
13:37or just things that i like looking at how about this indian probably 350 on that 300. all right i
13:45got you what about this this inkwell that's probably from the 20s or 30s this is an inkwell that's been
13:51customized for the gentleman his name is on it jack sinclair very cool very interesting item and that's
13:58all hand forged that it's been i see that what are you thinking on that probably a buck and a half done
14:04and then what about these seoul korea yeah 47 to 49. the skull and crossbones on these patches are
14:11very crude but these are very cool what do you think for the set 400 bucks you got it thank you
14:17man and then i saw these two man what about the buffaloes look at those those would have went on
14:22the bridle the buffalo bill museum's right behind the house oh so i love anything like that those are
14:27from the 20s they're amazing probably 150 on those all right i'm doing it i'll put this in my case
14:33here's what hollywood did instead of using flintlock guns yeah they took a trapdoor springfield
14:38which was a cap and ball where they can put the blank in there oh okay they made these big brass
14:43hammers to go on it and so it could fire they didn't have to keep loading them wow that's cool
14:48so that was a prop from the movie yeah the last command was sterling hayden well where did you get
14:53it at from a prop man of mine would you sell this probably about 400 this is such a cool prop you
15:01you know this movie was based on the alamo battle i want to buy this thing i mean this is a big deal
15:06350. cheers all right thanks man i love it on those days it had no value other than a prop to me
15:15had a lot of value because it was a real artifact from this movie they were going to destroy i saved it
15:20so terry was this a building here that you bought some place and then relocated it over here i
15:30constructed it oh you built a building built a building yeah it's cool my love for the general
15:36store was i grew up next door to my uncle's general store so i was somewhat his adopted son and i probably
15:44spent more time in the general store than i did at home and i got more education from the people that
15:50were at the general store than i did from the school i started too and i bought the phillips 66
15:56sign because my uncle's store was a phillips 66 station so what's inside this building it's full oh my
16:02god robbie look at this oh man wow yeah man you got it packed in here dude you got ham cooking if you're
16:10collecting and you find something that really appeals to you it sets you on fire man the general store was
16:18the information place of the community in the 50s when i was a kid the farmers gathered in there at
16:25night they played checkers they gossiped and of course there was a lot of white liquor drinking around
16:31there it's like stepping back in time so you're really passionate about doing this i mean this took
16:37a long time this didn't happen overnight terry it didn't happen overnight oh heck no the general store
16:42is bulging at the seams there's things that survived in their original packaging there's
16:48still moon pies in the wrappers it is packed like spam in a can all this stuff is extremely well preserved
16:56i mean this guy is taking it to a different level terry this thing is cool man davy crockett
17:02they're pins they're peons davy crockett was a frontiersman in the 1830s he was a real american
17:09hero he fought in the alamo so anything davy crockett is going to appeal to a kid reading
17:15history books reading about frontier life and these pins is something for a kid to really enjoy
17:20and they're on a nice display with great graphics on it check this thing out let's pull out a case
17:25whoa hop along cassidy piece doesn't have the top to it but that's in here hop along cassidy watch
17:31hop along cassidy was a fictional cowboy character from the 30s to the 50s
17:38playing on the romance of the old west the hop along cassidy is always going to be collectible
17:43here is a nice display it's a wristwatch it's intact never been worn never been touched it's a
17:49juvenile watch what's the group price for this 150. how's it gonna go 125. 150. 150. the hop along
17:57cassidy is pretty popular thing 140. all right all right buddy thank you so much man this is amazing
18:03what a great opportunity to come in here really appreciate you letting us do this you got some
18:07great stuff here i don't think i showed you this last time mike but this is another little uh
18:17coal full of junk hey i collect a little bit of everything i like cowboy indian old weapons
18:24older military items as a kid i grew up on a horse ranch in florida and in those days most of the movies
18:30were westerns and my first heroes were cowboys and as i got older i thought it was wonderful to have
18:36a piece of the real thing that i could relate back to my childhood and i look at this stuff and i enjoy
18:42it this is cool man here's some more antlers four full hides there's a lot of this stuff in here you're
18:48keeping it to make things well see i built the costumes for the studio for years yeah so i've got
18:54boxes of leather everywhere when i was a kid you know i was working in a small town in florida
18:58then elvis brosley came to town i ended up going to hollywood with elvis from then i've bettered
19:03everything from an actor stuntman prop maker to making costumes spent 57 years in the film industry
19:10i won an emmy for the costumes on magnificent seven this is a tv series okay probably 86 87 wow i made
19:18all the leather costumes for that all the leather costumes for wild bill jeff bridges no it was all
19:23hands on it was no machine i went back and researched hickok his buckskin jackets and all
19:28things and made patterns to fit jeff bridges to actually look just like wild bill so you were
19:34basically in a lot of these big actors and big actresses personal space yeah i don't know if you
19:40bought movie poster that's an old i think of roy rogers poster up there look at that pretty bad
19:46condition roy rogers trigger the smartest horse in the movies trigger did you ever work with him i knew
19:52roy we used to shoot skeet and trap together really i can tell you a funny story about roy rogers if you
19:57look at all the old roy rogers movies there was a guy in there called black jack o'shea he played all
20:02the bad guys well he was roy's buddy so when jack retired roy bought him a little shack along the
20:07railroad tracks down to tarzana california they started o'shea's trash and treasures oh which is an
20:13antique store really so when i first came out here i was doing stunt shows on the weekends and i always
20:18stopped by to see jack because a lot of the old stuntmen were there all the old cowboys we have
20:22great stories good whiskey and so i kept asking jack i'd like to meet roy he said when he comes down
20:28next time i will call you so i get a phone call he says get your ass over here roy's here so i got my
20:34best cowboy outfit i'm wearing down there walked into the little shack i'm going did he leave he goes no
20:41he's in the back room says come on so we open the back door roy's laying on the bunk bed back there
20:45drunk as a skunk just passed out grab his feet we took him out to jack's old pickup truck that had
20:53a mattress in the back put in the back of the pickup truck we drove him over to the ranch and dale and
20:58all the kids came up and loaded years later when i met him again i said you know i met you years ago
21:03you did i said oh god don't tell me about that story oh my god al found his passion and had the
21:10opportunity at the perfect time in his life because he used to watch these guys as a young man the
21:16movies and then coming of age being able to be in the industry and still see them working how amazing
21:24is that behind all of these guys there were so many people behind the camera working really hard to
21:31create the scenes create the wardrobe do the makeup the stunts all of that for the camera and the light to
21:38shine on them there are no self-made men there's so many people working so hard al was one of those
21:45guys for decades what an honor to know some of these guys that's beautiful man what do you value this at
21:5225 bucks i was going to give you a 50. okay i'll do that all right thank you buddy i love that and roy was
22:00just a super nice down-to-earth guy and he loved to get out with the guys and shoot the guns and tell
22:05stories and i loved every minute of it how about world war ii jackets oh wow that was you can tell
22:11that's been worn a lot this is what i love about al's collection we're jumping from the wild west
22:17to world war ii oh my god yeah look at that patch the jacket is standard issue the patch is not a lot
22:24of artwork like this or nose art was created by somebody on the crew or on the base all of this stuff
22:31was inspired by a brotherhood that was spiritual i mean when these guys left they had no idea if they
22:37were going to come back that kind of uncertainty seeps into the fabric there are a lot of collectors
22:44out there that care about the condition of the jacket i'm not that guy this is an incredible patch
22:50i'm buying this jacket for this one patch there's nothing on the back so what are you thinking on this
22:56so basically what i'm buying here is the coat that's you know it's rough strictly for this yeah
23:01but yeah for oh absolutely all this stuff i buy like this is for display but i've been collecting
23:06it for a while now like i mean what would you want for this one in this shape with this patch that's
23:10the patch this one yeah this one's probably around 350. yeah how about 300. okay it's just sitting
23:22down here in the box i love it i love it i appreciate it there's a lot of stuff in here
23:30i mean it's amazing how well everything is preserved look at this for example i mean dude i remember
23:34buying those when i was a kid look at this a space master paper kite this child's kite blows me away
23:40it's from the 50s it's made out of tissue paper it has all the iconic figures of the space age that is
23:48amazing that it survived because it's so delicate it's hard to display okay 60. yeah i'll do 60. yeah
23:55thank you man i preach i mean it's just so unusual terry yes sir look at that jersey monroe sent car
24:01fresheners 1954. cool thing is it's all intact and this is the greatest fishing lure ever made the fact
24:08that these are spinners that's my favorite kind because these things fish just bite they don't make
24:13stuff like this anymore 130 for the pair okay all right appreciate you yeah thank you thank you terry
24:19terry i'm looking at using these lures what is up with this it's an anvil yeah but anvil salesman
24:25that was his sample he took around to show it's pot metal it's very lightweight i think it's more of a
24:30decorative piece i think 30 bucks for 35 so all right dude i like this all right good so we're buying
24:36stuff i love it look at that harold smoked sardines these sardine cans were meant to look like a book
24:43on a shelf but when you opened it up it had the sardine cans displayed in this i'd say that's the 30s
24:49wouldn't you oh a minimum 125 let's go 150 130 that's a round number sold all right it takes a special
24:57person to buy sardine and you found the special person that's me that's you hey terry yes sir you got
25:03this cabinet back here actually i think i found the automotive section there's clamps up here
25:09radiator clamp supports you'd be interested in maybe selling this cabinet so there's purolator on
25:14it i probably would purolator was an air filter company that when you saw guys on the nascar track
25:20that was the company that had the air cleaner on their car this one is in great shape it's got the
25:25red the yellow and the white and it's perfect looks like it's probably from the late 50s early 60s i would
25:33say it looks like it was probably just for air filters it's got a bunch of oil filters and stuff
25:38inside it i don't really want those but it's got great color on it that's for certain i don't care
25:42what's inside it the cabinet is the advertising piece would you do 200 on it no i don't believe
25:49i'd do i'd do three to find it in this condition very unusual how about here i'll do this for you how
25:55about 300 and you throw in the automobile clamp thing up top three and a quarter i'll do that three and
26:02a quarter i could use that clamp piece in my shop i'm always digging around for some of those are
26:07old timey clamps that's all right though they got those cool old school ones i like this stuff it's
26:12the old school class like 1940s
26:19the whole collection you have is museum quality this is one of graham green's shirts from dances with
26:25wolves really god that's one of my favorite movies man i got that directly from graham no kidding so when
26:31actors are doing film is it unusual for them to acquire things like that like how do they get
26:36that stuff you know some of them like mcqueen they always got all the costumes they wore so did you
26:41know mcqueen yeah no kidding like what was he like i can tell you a little secret story if you want to
26:47hear it i want to hear any stories about steve mcqueen well we were doing a film called the getaway
26:53steve mcqueen ali mcgross sam peckinpah director we're shooting in san marcos texas and i was doing special
26:58effects makeup on the show and that first morning he says how about i'll come over i want to meet
27:02him so you were going to do see mcqueen's makeup yeah so i was all excited you know i go over there
27:07and he's in a motorhome he's got his entourage that travel with him and in the motorhome a lot
27:12of people know it's got two little spotlights over the kitchen table that barely light it up yeah
27:16because go ahead start your makeup i said steve it's too dark in here i can't do it i want you to
27:22do it now i said well it's a prosthetic job with a bullet head i said i can't do it because there's
27:27no lighting if i make one mistake we got to start all over there so i said come on over across the
27:32walkway the makeup trailers over everything all set up let do it and i started walking he grabbed me
27:37he goes i want you to do it now and i said steve you got one more poke and he looked at his buddy
27:44there laughing he went like that and i saw open-handed knocked him on his ass oh you just smacked him down
27:51yeah he fell back into the booth yeah and he said you sob you're never gonna work again your career's
27:57over i didn't have a job but i got this job so i'm walking over and i'm packing my stuff away
28:02and ali mcgraw comes in she goes al what are you doing i said steve just fired me so i'm packing all
28:09my crap and i'm out of here she goes you can't leave i want you here to do my effects when it comes
28:14up and i won't work with anybody else and i said well steve fired me she says don't go any place
28:19i'll be right back so she comes back with sam peckinpah the director he goes okay she told me
28:25the story he says i've been wanting to hit that son of a since the first time i met him
28:30he says you're not fired stay here you'll fly somebody in just to do steve oh my gosh time progressed
28:36and every morning i'd go to work i'd stop by and go morning mr steve mcqueen how are you mr mcqueen
28:42just you're egging him on yeah and i gotta give him credit though about halfway through the film
28:47he goes i owe you an apology he says i was totally out of line i was unprofessional you did what you're
28:53supposed to do and he said were you shaking my hand i said sure sure we became friends after that
28:58i rode baha with him and everything he's a good guy oh my gosh a little good guy i gotta give him
29:04credit he manned up and apologized and some respect to man totally this is what happens when you ask a
29:10stuntman to be a makeup artist i mean it's just insane but it's so cool that he held his ground he
29:16went toe to toe i'm in the presence of greatness he's a man's man he's a woman's man he's a dog's man
29:24he's everything a man should be and more
29:31pretty amazing history here look at that one here's some photos from a donkey basketball donkey
29:37basketball yeah i got the booking donkey basketball so guys riding donkeys and try to make baskets i
29:43think i remember this in high school they came to my school one year and i booked 200 one night events
29:49in 14 different states what is donkey ball you have eight donkeys four donkeys at each end of the court
29:56two teams and they have to be riding the donkey when shooting but the donkeys are trained to throw them off
30:03chase them bite them it was a fundraiser for the schools usually one of the teams had to be made
30:09up of the teachers and kids would buy a ticket to see the teacher thrown from the donkey and a lot of
30:15times the principal would be what was referred to as a pooper scooper if the donkeys had an accident on
30:21the floor they'd pack the gym out every night so i gotta ask a question because i collect photographs oh you
30:27do i got a lot of i probably have 8 000 photographs of things that intrigue me would you be interested in
30:32selling one of your donkey pictures well you're getting pretty personal now that makes it very
30:38expensive i know i get it i get it but it's just a cool story to tell i love that i don't know what
30:45kind of value would you place on that 100 bucks sold there you go that wasn't too hard tell you the
30:52name of the donkeys oh you know the name of the donkeys oh yeah
31:03what's the deal with the oscar what's the deal with that oh my god that's got some weight to it
31:08well in 1928 they were trying to get a design for an award to give to actors well this is one of the
31:15the prototypes to oscar this is the prototype for the oscar yeah who has a prototype oscar in their
31:23house and on top of that slapped steve mcqueen to the ground al fleming whoa a woman came back to me
31:30as a joke she says you want an oscar i went yes i said i'll never win one and she goes here you can
31:38have this and i never realized it was until i started screwing around with it and it's all about
31:42scratching on the bottom of it base style rs number two november 27 28. what do you value that at that
31:51actually should go to the hollywood museum down there really because it's something that should
31:54stay with the hollywood i think for sure oh my gosh what a piece of history that is a business
32:08so i gotta ask there's a couple signs i'm a huge advertising guy
32:11the one i like the most is the board yeah it's embossed too robbie yeah that's why i like it
32:15when it has uh animal on it makes it more valuable doesn't it 100 yeah we talk about
32:21buying character signs all the time the better the character the more valuable the piece that's
32:26painted metal not porcelain sign actual value wise what would it be 500 i think it's got a value of
32:32about eight to nine hundred eight to nine hundred yeah i'd be a player at 600. i believe i'll hang on
32:39to it that's a good offer well you got to step up to the plate we're here to buy if i would sell
32:44something off at the side of the store it'd leave a hole so to speak what about this gillette tire
32:49sign on the other side it's got a polar bear on it right here it's got a big whammy right on the
32:53bear i'll probably let that and go being on the rear end of the store it's not as visible that's an
32:59embossed one but it's got a great look the gillette tire sign that's on the back it's got a polar bear on
33:04it and it's not the greatest shape but it's a good piece a little rough here robbie all right
33:09that's rougher than a corn cob in 1972 yeah would you do uh 325. i'd like to start about five yeah
33:19oof it's tough and it's a 70 sign i know that it's not perfect yeah would you go four 375.
33:27i'd like to have four out of it i just never did like odd numbers like that i like those even hundred
33:34i wouldn't have sold it had it been off of the side of the store but i was satisfied price wise
33:47harry yeah sir look at this they've got like the clothing department here
33:51look at these lee jeans size 29 by 31 that's for somebody really small pointer brand jeans 34 ways
33:57there you go here's kids jeans mavericks dc brand all this stuff is made in usa oh yeah
34:03this is dead stock denim unused inventory from the 70s some maybe even to the 60s you rarely see
34:11that you got other ones up here too and these are overalls red camel brand new old stock you got
34:17another set up there too these are oshkosh 28 by 33. here's another set of lee yeah i love denim i didn't
34:24see these whoa what really intrigues me whenever i see any work wear or denim is that designers who are
34:31making clothing use vintage products to inspire them to make their denim let me make you offer one
34:38two three four pairs of overalls right there overhauls what fifty dollars a pair today well these because
34:45they're kid size it's gonna be hard to get that kind of money for them one two three four five i'm
34:51thinking like 225. make it 250 and take them with you 250 yeah you know what i'm not gonna argue with
34:57buddy thank you so much man i really appreciate it there's so much stuff here i mean look at this axe
35:02s-wing embossed leather case it's brand new the s-wing company makes a high quality product they have
35:09a beautiful way they use a forged handle that incorporates the head it's very strong then i
35:14found this piece carborundum is it store display advertising thing for a sharpening stone people come
35:19in and sharpen their knife yep this is used 75 for both of them 65 bucks all right so all right i'm
35:26not done with you yet i love this the kitty boots yeah that's got to have some age oh that is so neat
35:32look at it play boots adjustable straps so they're plastic boots the cowboy boot display is so cool
35:38because they're kids cowboy boots i mean they're just adorable it's been patched up a little bit with
35:43some tape but it's still there i believe about 50. you think about 50 bucks yeah you know what that's
35:48exactly what i was thinking too all right buddy thank you so much very very good check these
35:52things out ah cool that display is nice i know when i walked into a general store when i was a kid
35:58it was all about the soda the lollipops and the pocket knives there's another one that is great when i
36:05was seven years old my dad gave me a pocket knife it was a rite of passage it just takes you back to a
36:12time when i see these pocket knives i think about my grandkids i think about my children is it broken
36:17it's hot rob yeah this piece got broke missing one knife i wouldn't take less than 300 for both of
36:22them 250. uh okay three that barlow you wouldn't find a complete display like that shake the man's hand
36:32yeah we got to get them they're nice man you're right the borrow display is awesome it's pretty
36:36amazing this stuff survived it's just another example of how well terry preserved everything in
36:42here and this is just a testament to terry's ambitious project terry it's been a heck of a day
36:48he put this beautiful general store all together in a wonderful building to help preserve history
36:55it's an amazing accomplishment appreciate it appreciate you coming by see us in iowa nice meeting
36:59you my friend yes sir i have never sold anything until today when they complimented me on the condition
37:07of the various items it certainly made me feel good and it was a very enjoyable experience come see us in
37:15leclair i've got a cowgirl collection over here let me see that what's going on with that put it over
37:29here let's see i think this is the only spot in the house where we can look at stuff it's a very historical
37:35rodeo thing one of the ladies who actually started the women's rodeo in the 1880s this is her entire
37:42collection she was a lady that started the rodeo cowgirls association back in the 1920s this is
37:48her scrapbooks wow bluest ever clippings first edition books oh this is her right here bertha blanchett
37:56she was actually the first lady in rodeo to ride a bronco to professionally ride in a rodeo wow
38:03and that was unheard of in those days oh my gosh absolutely so she was a tough old gal wow look at
38:08all this where'd you get this stuff at a guy bought a storage unit this was in it and he called me
38:13and said you buy cowboy stuff do you buy photographs wow these are so great you know where i went to and
38:19it was the most badass thing man you've been to the cowgirl hall of fame yeah did you see all those
38:24outfits in there did you see annie oakley's in there yeah my daughter charlie and i went to the cowgirl
38:29hall of fame in fort worth texas a couple years ago it was a place my daughter wanted to visit
38:35it was on her list and i remember seeing some of bertha blanchett's things in there dang this is
38:41incredible i mean there's so much history here women like bertha blanchett forged the past struck
38:47the iron for so many others if you're a woman in riding and rodeo right now bertha blanchett's history
38:54is part of your history so it's so wild to see a box of all these personal images of hers
39:02a lot of these things are other ladies that were in the rodeos that were friends of hers
39:06look at them jumping over that car oh my gosh these were the gals that went out there and busted their
39:10tail and had to prove themselves to the old tough cowboys that they were worthy of going out there and
39:15becoming yeah rodeo stars exactly it is interesting that a lot of these photos have the names of the
39:21people in the photos yeah some of them have it on the back if they don't have it on the front yeah
39:25it's just good early stuff with the rodeos so what are you going to do with all this stuff i'd be
39:29interested in this are you interested in selling this i was going to try to get it to somebody
39:33probably you'd be a good one to get it because i thought it should be kept together absolutely
39:37because this is the beginning of certain rodeoing well absolutely and i think also too i look at it the
39:43images and how personal a lot of the stuff is to me it'd be an amazing book you know what i mean do the
39:49research i'm too old to be taken on a project like this yeah but it has to be done because i've
39:54never found a complete archives of early yeah cowboy stuff that hasn't been published absolutely
40:02what are you thinking on this stuff to you i'd go a thousand dollars on it i think that's a good price
40:11i think it is too and i think there's a responsibility that comes with it
40:14i'm game for it i'm up for the task okay i truly am we're saving a piece of history that
40:20otherwise would probably be thrown out burned lost absolutely any of this stuff i feel like i'm
40:25preserving the history of it for whoever comes next and it's a hell of a book i look forward to
40:31see what he does with it well you've got me excited about it good this needs to be moved forward i want
40:37to be the guy that puts it in its right place so whether that's the cowgirl hall of fame or connecting it
40:42with maybe a family member i understand the responsibility of owning it all right we got
40:47the rest of the antlers this is one of the things i love about my job you know circling back with guys
40:54that over the years have become my mentor you know every time i come to al's house i want to stay
40:59there for a month you know it's like i just want to be an apprentice i'm such a sponge and he's just got
