00:00House Majority Leader and Ilocos Norte 1st District Representative Sandro Marcos appeared before the Independent Commission for Infrastructure or ICI to shed light and help with the Commission's continuing probe on anomalous flood control projects.
00:30As the hearing was about to begin, Representative Marcos' legal team requested for an executive session citing sensitive information he might disclose. Hence, the live stream of the hearing was cut short.
00:43There may be critical information that may be elicited from his testimony which may jeopardize or compromise for the investigation of this commission.
00:52We grant your request so we will adjourn the session and go into executive session.
00:58However, Congressman Marcos gave his consent to the ICI for future release to the public of his testimony.
01:05In an ambush interview after the hearing, Representative Marcos confirmed that allegations against him by resigned Congressman Zaldico were discussed with the Commission.
01:15It's pure fabrication and pure lies. It's one that is a move that makes a desperation. It's a political ploy and I've already attributed it to attempts at destabilization of the government.
01:28Congressman Marcos also pushed back on accusations that his father, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., ordered the House leadership to place insertions in the national budget, explaining how functions of the executive and legislative branches of the government are separate and distinct.
01:44He also strongly denies cost allegation that he is behind the P50B budget insertions from 2023 to 2025.
01:52Kung nakikita nyo po yung listahan, may mga projects dyan sa Davao City nakalagay, nakalista sa Davao City. Eh, alam naman natin sino nakatira dun, ba't ako maglalagay ng projects dun?
02:05The ICI has no definite date yet when it will share to the public the information in Representative Marcos' testimony.
