00:00There's local elections in May next year.
00:03The mayoral combined authorities that are already, and this is a technical point,
00:07that are already in unitary local authority areas where you've only got one tier of local government.
00:13Those elections will be going ahead in 2027.
00:16The delay for two years is for areas where they've still not sorted out their local government organisation,
00:23so we need to get that right.
00:24This government is bringing about a devolution revolution.
00:27We'll have had more mayors be created in this parliament than any other,
00:30but we need to make sure that's done correctly.
