00:00In novembre,
00:03we are celebrating the 15th anniversary
00:06since the art of carpet weaving of Azerbaijan
00:10became part of the UNESCO list.
00:12And this is also the big achievement
00:14for promoting our cultural heritage.
00:30Almost every village, every house had its own room
00:33and Azekhalcha has at this moment 14 studios
00:36in different parts of Azerbaijan
00:38with more than 600 weavers.
00:40Art of carpet weaving in Azerbaijan
00:42is part of the women's story.
00:45Azekhalcha is only organization
00:47where more than 85% of our employees
00:50are rural women.
00:52This art of carpet weaving
00:54lives in Azerbaijan for centuries.
00:56Most of them continue family traditions.
01:00I have been working for six years.
01:05I love this work.
01:07I came to my grandma's house
01:09and I got my heart and I got my heart
01:12and I got my heart and I got my heart.
01:15I love my heart.
01:17I got my heart and I got my heart.
01:20I got my heart and I got my heart.
01:22We need to say it's in our identity
01:28and that's why our ladies learn it so quickly.
01:32Most of the carpets, especially the bigger ones,
01:35even the smaller ones,
01:36they sit on the loom for months
01:38because it's hand knotted.
01:40We have a bigger carpet
01:41which are like 15 square meters, 20 square meters.
01:43And you can imagine how much dust it has.
01:47And it has been definitely cleaned and washed.
01:50We were preparing, washing it many times.
01:53For us it's also important
01:56if every tourist takes at least little part
02:00of our culture with them.
02:02This kind of, of course, purchase,
02:04it supports at least one rural woman,
02:07one of our weaver in one of the regions of Azerbaijan.
02:10In past years we had big exhibitions of our carpets
02:15in Madrid, in Berlin, in Den Haag,
02:19now it's in Tirana,
02:20previously it was in Kishino,
02:22it was in Riga.
02:24We have thousands of visitors.
02:26The local artists of that country,
02:28they visit our exhibition,
02:30they meet us and then they approach to us,
02:33how it can work, etc.
02:35Based on this kind of promotions,
02:37we meet our future, let's say, partners for collaborations.
02:41It's our folk art, it's our history,
02:44and our goal to make it,
02:46not it just stays as a history,
02:48but it becomes part of our today's life
02:51and the future life.
