Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick says the government must not scrap jury trials and instead protect the "ancient right that we've enjoyed in this country for at least 800 years". The Conservative frontbencher says Justice Secretary David Lammy should instead look at having courts "sitting round the clock" and use all available court sitting days that are offered by the judiciary.
