00:00Is there something from your upbringing with Kurt and Goldie that you now catch yourself

00:04passing on to your kids, like unintentionally or unintentionally?

00:08Yeah, it's a funny, it's a good question. It's funny because obviously Kurt's not my blood

00:14father, but I have a lot of his mannerisms and sometimes my inflections, the way that I get

00:22angry sometimes, the way that I get excited and praise because, you know, Kurt, Pa, I

00:30call him Pa, Pa is just a, he's just got so much life force in him, you know, and when

00:37he loves, he loves hard and when he laughs, he laughs hard, you know, and when he is

00:41opinionated, he opinionates hard and it's the beautiful thing about him. And so I take

00:46that a lot of my, I'm weirdly getting emotional, with his, you know, with his sort of life force

00:59when he gets loud and he gets big, when I get big, I find my inflections, the way that

01:06I speak, very similar to him. And then just raising your children, like you can't help

01:12but mirror all the great things that your parents gave to you, you know? I think it's

01:18normal for us to pick and choose because I always say it's not about if we screw up our

01:24kids, it's about to what degree, you know? I mean, we're all trying our best. We're never

01:28going to get it right, right. That's not an impossibility. Perfection is a word that shouldn't

01:32even exist in the English language. I don't even know what is perfect, you know? So I find

01:38myself, you know, doing things like Kurt does for me personally. What he did for me was took

01:47me from sort of a little scared boy who was a mama's boy and taught me how to be alone,

01:52taught me independence, the freedom of sort of being able to find your way and not have

01:57to rely on people, a toughness. He may be the man that I am, 100%. And I find that I am

02:05doing the same thing with my kids. That sort of, that tough love a little bit when it's

02:09needed that, hey, shake it off, buddy, you're okay. When to step forward and when to step back.

02:14Yeah. Yeah. And then mom for me is just, I have all of her sensitivity, all of her empathy,

02:20you know, I feel a ton, you know, too much. That's why I'm on 20 milligrams of Lexapro.

02:26So I've got them both.
