Ebon Moss-Bachrach tells THR on the Emmys red carpet what he wants to see for his character Richie in the upcoming season of 'The Bear.'

00:03Yeah, thank you. Thank you.

00:04What was your reaction when they called your name?

00:06Oh, I was stressed out. Yeah.

00:10That's amazing. I mean, we see Richie go through such a transformation in Season 2,

00:15and I feel like I always found myself crying watching your character,

00:18especially the Forks episode, just seeing him go through everything that he did.

00:22What was it like for you telling Richie's story in Season 2

00:25and just showing a softer side to him than we saw in Season 1?

00:28To be honest, I found it was kind of a lonely storyline for me

00:32because one of the things I love most about our show

00:35is when everyone's together in the kitchen, very frenetic, bouncing off of each other,

00:40overlap dialogue, that commotion and chaos.

00:44And certainly that episode of Forks was very quiet,

00:47really a departure tonally from the rest of the show.

00:50And so I kind of felt, I don't know, a little lonely. I miss my friends.

00:55One of your friends in the show, and that I love your on-screen relationship, is Fack.

01:00I love the Richie-Fack dynamic.

01:02What's your dynamic like in real life with Matty, who plays him?

01:05I mean, Matty's a very, very charming man.

01:08You know, he's like a deeply soulful...

01:11He's a cook. He's a chef. He's a nurturer.

01:17You know, he wants to... He's like a connective tissue. I adore that guy.

01:23Looking forward to Season 3, what's something you'd love to see happen for Richie in the new season?

01:28Well, there's two answers to that, because there's things I would like for him, as someone who plays him,

01:37I would like for him to find love. I would like for him to find peace.

01:40But from an audience perspective and from what I want to play as an actor,

01:46I want struggle and obstacles and more chaos.

01:53You're getting ready to go back to film Season 3 soon, right?

01:57Yeah, yeah. In a month, yeah.
