00:00Hello, I'm John Cena.
00:02Hi, I'm Pete Davidson.
00:03And we are guest correspondents for Wired,
00:06testing and reviewing workout tech.
00:08I'm prepared, dressed as Peacemaker from the Suicide Squad,
00:11so this should be fun.
00:13And I'm just here.
00:21OK, let's get to the first gadget.
00:26The suspense is killing me.
00:29Do we recognize this?
00:31No, not at all.
00:33What is it?
00:34I would use my clinical knowledge to say
00:37that this is a jump rope that counts your jumps.
00:40It's all ball bearings now.
00:41They've shifted it.
00:42These are obviously 20 weight 40s.
00:43Obviously.
00:44There's some knurling on the side, maybe to keep your grip.
00:47This feels like it is made for the mass market.
00:50It feels attainable.
00:52I don't want to use the word cheap.
00:54It is actually a very cheap jump rope.
00:56It is $16.
00:57It is a steel rope protected by PVC sheathing,
01:01which I don't know what the that is.
01:03It says it's high quality steel ball bearings
01:06to avoid twisting, winding, or bending.
01:09This speed jump rope could bear a heavy load.
01:13Sorry.
01:15One reviewer says, this just made jumping easier,
01:18so you could focus on getting in your zone
01:21and having a killer workout.
01:23Love it.
01:23Five stars, Angelo.
01:25And then this other guy, who I believe more, said,
01:28not worth it.
01:29If I was going to have this much problems,
01:31then I could just count in my head for all that matter.
01:34So sensitive to the touch, you can't even store it.
01:38Two stars, says Sims33.
01:40Let's test it out.
01:42Okay.
01:43Poor sound guy.
01:46We need some help, really.
01:48He's not good.
01:49Okay, I got a few in there.
01:55I jumped eight times.
01:56I burned one calorie for 55 seconds,
02:00and I weigh 95 pounds.
02:02I'd say we're about 50-50, accurate jump count.
02:07I think the body weight may be off.
02:09As a guy who jump ropes regularly,
02:11I think you smashed it, John.
02:13Okay, thanks, man.
02:14I appreciate it.
02:16Okay, here's where I stand on the jump rope.
02:18If you like seeing your stats and data,
02:20it's not that much more expensive than a regular jump rope,
02:22so why not?
02:23Because you're not going to break the bank with it.
02:25Pete, would you use this?
02:26No, but it seems like you had a good time with it,
02:28and I would trust your opinion.
02:30So I think we like the $16 jump rope
02:32that is also used as a dildo.
02:34Cool.
02:35All right, there it is.
02:36On a one to five, I give this a 2.5.
02:38That is fair.
02:39Bring on the next gadget!
02:46Okay, uh, this is a box.
02:49Is that a Roku?
02:50It's actually a tiny gem in my pocket.
02:52This is going to test grip,
02:54so I would basically do this,
02:56and it would give me a readout.
02:57How much do you think this one is?
02:59Something like this, I would bet costs $800.
03:02It is $120, the Active Body Active 5 handheld isometric strength training device,
03:09and it helps you build muscle, get toned, and stay fit anywhere.
03:13This portable strength training and fitness tool,
03:16paired with its companion app, gives you 100 plus low impact workouts
03:20that effectively target different muscle groups in just five minutes.
03:24Hmm, 120 exercises in five minutes.
03:27You are definitely on some clinical amphetamines if you're doing this workout.
03:30Here are the reviews for the Active 5.
03:33Just do something.
03:34Just move.
03:34This is the answer.
03:36Five stars.
03:37Terrible workouts.
03:38Hard to get in a groove.
03:40I threw the box away,
03:41so now I'm stuck with this horrible paperweight.
03:43One star.
03:44Amazon customer.
03:45Didn't even leave his name.
03:47I'm interested to see what you do with it.
03:49Let's play the setup game.
03:50Follow the line.
03:51Oh, okay.
03:53Okay, cool.
03:54All right.
03:54That's fair.
03:55This is my flight path.
03:56This looks like an Atari game.
03:58I'm figuring out how to cheat.
04:00It's very easy to corrupt.
04:02Hold this position and press Active 5 firmly and roughly.
04:06Okay, I'll try to maybe do something like this.
04:1017 pounds of strength.
04:1326 pounds of strength in the other arm.
04:15That's right.
04:16This is the gun to watch at the show.
04:18That's the one you masturbate with.
04:20This one.
04:22That's not a workout.
04:23The Active 5 gym in your pocket.
04:27I don't like that thing.
04:28Why don't you like it?
04:29I just don't like it.
04:30You know, I honestly can't put my finger on it,
04:32but this thing sucks.
04:33Yeah.
04:33Uh, I agree with you.
04:35I don't like it.
04:36And only because it's too easy to cheat.
04:37Like, one set of fingers pressing against another
04:40while this hand is passive could make more tension
04:42to give you a better score.
04:44It happens in all of fitness.
04:45We try to gamify our results,
04:46but this is way too easy to do that.
04:48I will give this one star.
04:53Hmm.
04:56The Blaze Pod.
04:57Oof.
04:58Rough name.
04:58Okay.
05:00It's like small targets.
05:02I don't know if they plug into each other,
05:04but there's like a weird thing on the bottom.
05:06My review of this is...
05:08Oh!
05:09Ooh!
05:09Just lit up.
05:11Another one.
05:11And two just lit up.
05:12I don't know how I did that.
05:13Tell us what we have here.
05:15Well, John, what you're holding right now is the Blaze Pod
05:19Flash Reflex and Reaction Training LED Light Pods.
05:23For a staggering $300, the kit includes four LED light pods
05:28to create motivating visual cues and tests for athletes and trainees.
05:32Pods are extremely durable, can absorb hard hits during an MMA training session,
05:37but are also sensitive enough for a light tap.
05:40Beware of some grump reviewers and take it from a pro.
05:44Buy these and quit messing around.
05:47And then the much more believable review,
05:49the suction cups don't stick to any wall in my warehouse.
05:53Two stars.
05:54What a weird flex.
05:55In my warehouse.
05:57This is a plank challenge.
05:59Tap any of the pods to start.
06:00There we go.
06:01Go.
06:01Okay.
06:02There we go.
06:03Yep.
06:05This is actually pretty cool.
06:06That's Simon Says.
06:08Yep.
06:09It's kind of like Whack-A-Mole in Simon Says.
06:12Yeah, that's not worth $300.
06:13But you can cheat.
06:17So the non-techy way to do this exercise, take the really small plates at the gym and you stack
06:24them.
06:24And when you're in your plank position, you move them over here.
06:28And there's really very little way to cheat.
06:30I do like how you know how to cheat with every single device we use though.
06:35You got to find the flaws.
06:36And the flaw is you can gamify the system very quickly.
06:41What'd you think of these?
06:42I actually kind of like it because it looks fun and it lights up.
06:45And I'm a very simple-minded man.
06:47So for like me, that's very exciting.
06:50If you like to be under the bright lights, they also make cool photo filters too.
06:54Like if you're taking selfies and stuff, you can just put them under your face.
06:57I'll say two stars.
06:58Two stars for lighting up.
06:59Testing an athlete's reaction time, that's pretty cool.
07:02But I'm going to get faster at touching dots.
07:04And if you're a basketball player hoping to get quicker at playing basketball, how much
07:07does a basketball cost?
07:0911 bucks?
07:0912 bucks?
07:10It's not going to cost me $300.
07:12Bring on the next gadget.
07:17Ooh, okay.
07:19So from the good folks at Theragun, it's I believe their new Theragun.
07:24These are interesting.
07:24And once again-
07:25Another vibrator.
07:26Strange parallel between home intimate amusement and physical fitness gadgetry.
07:32How's that feel?
07:33It feels insane.
07:35I love how like toned and jiggly it looks on your arms.
07:39This is a Theragun Mini handheld percussive massage device.
07:44The Theragun Mini portable treatment packed with power.
07:47Theragun Mini is your pocket-sized partner, okay, giving you quality deep muscle treatment
07:53with unparalleled portability.
07:55How much do you think this one's costing you, John?
07:58500 bucks.
07:59A $200 Theragun.
08:00Okay, 200 bucks is not bad.
08:02And here are some reviews.
08:03The small design def makes it easier to hit harder spots.
08:08Love it.
08:08Five stars, Eric.
08:10And then Judy913 says, it feels like a jackhammer punching you over and over.
08:15I hated this product.
08:16Returned.
08:17I wish they showed the reviews of the people that use it for what it's really for.
08:22Yeah, I'm using this for my OnlyFans page.
08:24Yeah.
08:24Tell us about your experience with a Theragun.
08:28So I have a very bad back because I have horrible posture because I don't like myself.
08:32I got a Theragun because I saw a commercial of Cristiano Ronaldo just like, he doesn't even say
08:40anything, he's just like sexy looking at the camera and he's like, you know, doing this
08:45shit.
08:46So I thought it was like supposed to massage your back and cut out the middleman and John
08:51just told me that that's actually the opposite of what it does.
08:55This is a hammer and if you have a hurt arm and your arm is in pain and your body is in full defensive
09:01mode, you're essentially taking a hammer to it.
09:05It's not relaxing the tissue at all.
09:07It's aggravating it.
09:08Percussion can be really good by like waking up all those muscles and getting them ready for activity.
09:13But man, if you're in pain, don't put a hammer on something that already hurts.
09:17That's the takeaway for this.
09:20I love the design.
09:21It's really small.
09:22These things are great on healthy tissue.
09:24Well, because you have all that healthy tissue.
09:26So it's actually really great for you, but horrible for someone like me.
09:30No, if your back hurts and the rest of you is okay, you get a bunch of healthy tissue.
09:34Oh, thanks, John.
09:35I'd give this 3.75 stars.
09:38The only reason it's not higher is because they're not really doing a better job of informing people
09:42how to use it.
09:47Hmm.
09:48How much do you think this high intensity vibrating foam roller is, John?
09:56150 bucks.
09:57Very close.
09:58200 dollars.
09:59It's a little pricey for a piece of foam.
10:01It is German engineered, eco-friendly, smooth and grooved, like myself.
10:06Three vibrating settings for a custom experience tailored to your recovery and warm-up needs.
10:12You can increase the range of motion by up to 40% versus 18% increase with regular foam rolling.
10:18Ridiculously powerful vibrations.
10:20When I use it on my upper back, it makes me feel a bit dizzy.
10:24I don't know if that's a positive review.
10:27And then negative review.
10:28All caps.
10:30Stop working within only several weeks of use.
10:33One star.
10:34Foam rollers are good and they work, but they're also bad because like how many times have you seen
10:40people at the gym like this, like on their phones, like kicking it.
10:44Pretend they're rolling out their calves and they're just like this.
10:48The cool thing about the hyper ice, you can't really relax.
10:52And Pete, I want you to know, this could be a great finish to your workout.
10:58Yeah.
10:58Just got to get on that inside edge.
11:01Okay.
11:02And in about 90 more seconds, my workout will be finished.
11:09This is good.
11:10This one was good.
11:13What'd you think?
11:13I thought it was cool, but I thought that they should have added a Bluetooth speaker as well.
11:17I mean, it might as well be.
11:18Oh, shit.
11:19Why not, right?
11:20That would have been sick.
11:21I like this thing.
11:22I actually, I actually do own one.
11:24Something that's helped my bad back a little bit.
11:26Maybe you should try a run on the hyper ice.
11:28This is more for like the cool down stuff and the relaxing everything.
11:32If you have something that's quite tense, the difference is this uses vibration.
11:37It's a little bit less threatening than percussion, but guys add a speaker to it.
11:41And for the fact that you didn't add a speaker to it, we're going to give it
11:44three, three, three.
11:46We're going to give it three stars.
11:48That's final.
11:49Wired.
11:49It's time for my overall thoughts.
11:51Is an archaic dinosaur like me who really doesn't know how to turn on or off their phone really a
11:55justifiable authority to evaluate this equipment?
11:58No.
11:59Watch Rocky IV.
12:00There's a guy who lifts logs and runs up mountains.
12:02And there's another guy who trains with the highest technical equipment available.
12:05It's all about what you like.
12:06If you like tech and you like working out, then techie workout gadgets are for you.
12:11But you don't need tech to work out.
12:13You should definitely not take my opinion on working out because I cannot work out, even though I look
12:20like I do.
12:20So to sum it up, we both had a great time.
12:22But my God, have you wasted your time trying to get information from us.
