00:00Hey, I'm Olivia Munn and I am going undercover on the internet.
00:04This is actually me.
00:09Oh, that's not me.
00:11Oh, the internet.
00:13Twitter.
00:16No, seriously, it's actually me.
00:19It is.
00:20So Olivia Munn as a reporter in Iron Man 2, how does she become Psylocke?
00:25Was she Psylocke the whole time waiting for Apocalypse to show up?
00:29That is a great question.
00:30I actually did a different cameo in Iron Man 2.
00:32A girl who was hooking up with Iron Man with Tony Stark and something happened and they
00:37had to reshoot it.
00:38And Jon Favreau called and said, you know, we'd still love for you to be in the movie.
00:42He's like, I've got a couple of different things.
00:43And I asked, well, can we actually pick a real Marvel character?
00:46Somebody actually from the world.
00:47So that's how we picked my character as a reporter, as a small, small, if you like lean down to
00:52get your popcorn, you'd miss me.
00:54But then I remember later on, my manager told me that Marvel, they don't like to replicate
00:58you in a different character.
00:59And I was like, but nobody, it's just a small role.
01:02It's just a thing.
01:03But he was like, yeah, they're pretty, pretty strict on that.
01:07But I got around that because Marvel didn't have the X-Men universe at the time.
01:11And when they approached me with Psylocke, I was able to do it.
01:13I love your theory for why I was able to do Iron Man 2 and Psylocke.
01:17And I agree.
01:18Yes, it was because Psylocke was just waiting for Apocalypse the whole time.
01:22And she was undercover as the reporter in Iron Man 2.
01:25I believe that.
01:26The internet.
01:27You guys come up with some good, good shit.
01:30Does it frighten you how crazy some folks get over comic to movie adaptations?
01:34No, because I get like that too.
01:36I think that people wouldn't get so crazy if it was just a really great movie.
01:40When I was doing X-Men, I was actually surprised that the director and the writer didn't even
01:45know that Psylocke had a twin brother.
01:47And I had to talk to them about a lot of different things about Psylocke and some other parts
01:51of the world that they didn't know.
01:52And that, as a fan, was very frustrating.
01:56Yep.
01:57I answered that one, right?
02:03I actually miss Attack of the Show every single day.
02:05It was my favorite job by far.
02:07I was really addicted to Call of Duty.
02:09And I kind of got into some Assassin's Creed.
02:11I'm trying to get into Overwatch now.
02:13But, you know, I have a laptop, but I, you know, need to be on an actual desktop to play.
02:17And I got rid of them because I was just, you know, too obsessive with it at certain
02:21points.
02:22Done.
02:23Next.
02:24Reddit.
02:25One of the most interesting places in the world with the most interesting people.
02:29How is working with Aaron Sorkin scripts different than other scripts?
02:32Best thing you learned on the set of Newsroom.
02:34Aaron Sorkin scripts are different than every other script out there.
02:38It's just strikingly different.
02:39It's hard to say the best thing.
02:40The first one that comes to my mind was one time I was having a hard time getting this
02:44line out.
02:45And Sam Waterston comes up to me and says, you know, what's, what's going on?
02:48I said, I just can't get this line out.
02:49And he just circled the word and he said, no, you'll never mess up again because now I've
02:53pointed out to you and now you'll know exactly where it is and you'll just kind of maneuver
02:56around it.
02:57And he was right.
02:58And I've actually used that for myself many, many times since.
03:01What do you think Sloane Sabbath would be up to in 2019?
03:04I think she'd be kicking ass and taking names.
03:07If I had a microphone, I'd drop it.
03:09If I could drop this one, I would, but I can't.
03:12Wikipedia.
03:13God love you.
03:14Although the family relocated many times, Mun was predominantly raised on Yokota Air Base
03:19near Tachikawa in Tokyo, Japan, where her stepfather was stationed.
03:22During this time, she appeared in a number of local theater productions and later became
03:26a model in the Japanese fashion industry.
03:28I did grow up on Yokota Air Base in Tokyo where my stepfather was stationed.
03:35I never did any local theater in Japan and I was not a model ever in the history of ever
03:42have I ever been a model.
03:44And it comes up, but I'm not.
03:47Trust.
03:48I think Wikipedia is amazing for history, like really old history.
03:53But when it comes to people, I just know from my own personal experience
03:58that there's a lot of stuff on my Wikipedia that's just not true.
04:00And I've had people, legit journalists, quote stuff from here.
04:04And they shouldn't.
04:05Instagram.
04:09I didn't know you knew Taekwondo.
04:11What degree are you, black belt?
04:12That's a very good guess.
04:13Yes, I am a black belt in Taekwondo.
04:15I had to take Taekwondo from the age of four up until we got to black belt.
04:19That was everyone in my family.
04:20I'm one of five kids and we all had to do that.
04:23This is my very good friend, Karin, and she was my trainer during X-Men.
04:28So that's a long-winded answer to your question.
04:32And replied.
04:33Whoa!
04:34Do you have to do your own stunts?
04:35LOL.
04:36Hope it looks worse than it feels.
04:37That is when I was learning how to do my sword and when you're spinning it.
04:41I actually was using a real metal sword that was not sharp.
04:44And I kept spinning it and hitting my leg over and over.
04:47That actually just felt like progress to me.
04:50Next.
04:51Your skin is so beautiful.
04:53Thanks.
04:54It's goals.
04:55Do you recommend any certain dietary practices?
04:57Yes.
04:58I drink a lot of water.
04:59Half of your body weight in ounces a day.
05:01And people think that they drink a lot of water, but they don't.
05:03I actually have bottles of water and I number them at the top so that I know how many I have drank for that day.
05:09So that's what I would do.
05:12And stay away from sugar.
05:13What's next?
05:14What did you get on the ACT?
05:16SAT?
05:17I did not take the SAT.
05:18And the ACT, I don't remember.
05:21I got whatever I needed to get into the University of Oklahoma.
05:24And then I never looked back.
05:26Cora.
05:27What defined Olivia Munn's acting style?
05:32I don't know.
05:35YouTube.
05:37Wasn't she on a show called Attack of the Nuns?
05:43I want to be.
05:46I'm gonna sell that to Amazon.
05:48Back to Wikipedia.
05:50See if anything has changed.
05:51If it's, you know, accurate now.
05:53In regard to her faith and work in Deliverance from Evil, Munn has said that,
05:56I didn't believe in the supernatural before this movie.
05:58However, the viewing of footage from the New York City Police Department of Real Life Exorcisms changed her mind.
06:03And she has stated that, quote, I'm a full believer now.
06:06Yes.
06:07I believe.
06:09IMDB.
06:11Competed in a World Championship Rock Paper Scissors tournament.
06:14IMDB, that is correct.
06:16Yep.
06:17I went to Toronto to compete in a World Championship Rock Paper Scissors tournament.
06:22And I, if I remember correctly, I got into the top 30 out of a thousand.
06:27Maybe it was top 60.
06:28Either way, I, in my head, I was in the top 30.
06:31And I learned a lot.
06:32And I've taken it.
06:33I've taken that power with me to many elementary school yards.
06:37And just destroyed five-year-old dreams left and right.
06:41It's rewarding, actually.
06:43All right, that's it.
06:44That's actually me.
06:45I'm signing off the internet now.
06:47Goodbye.
06:52Thank you so much.
06:53All right.
06:55There you are.
06:56Let's go ahead одной.
06:57Go into the house.
06:58Let's go ahead and get up on the left.
07:05Go into the house.
07:07See now.
07:08More spaceжigsaw, society, and all of this!
07:11The용 and galaxy, save up against you.
07:12All right.
