00:00For the first time ever, a blue wave is gonna hit the global stage. Ladies and

00:08gentlemen, let's welcome Curaçao to its first ever World Cup. So let's get to know

00:13the smallest country to ever qualify for a FIFA World Cup tournament. The official

00:18name, the country of Curaçao. It's a constituent island country within the

00:22Kingdom of Netherlands located in the southern Caribbean Sea. Now with a

00:27population of just over a hundred and fifty-five thousand people. They just

00:32broke the record of the smallest country to make it to the World Cup and that was

00:36held by Iceland back in 2018. Their culture, it's a mix of Dutch, Caribbean, Latin and

00:43Afro-Caribbean flavor and I'm all here for it. The path to the World Cup. They earned

00:49a direct spot from CONCACAF and will be joined by Haiti and Panama. Now the blue

00:53wave punched their ticket after earning a hard-fought, nil-nil draw against Jamaica.

01:39eligible to play for the country due to FIFA's rules that allows players to

01:43represent the country of their parents or grandparents birth. Meaning the

01:48majority of the players were either born in or raised in the Netherlands but

01:52they're eligible through Curaçao and Roots. Now let's round this thing up because

01:56they're gonna have to wait until December 5th to see what group they're

02:00going to play in and the group stages of the tournament. But listen, we all know

02:04every tournament needs that. That pure underdog with heart. And I believe that

02:09Curaçao is that team. They got nothing to lose. So that's what makes them
