Trump administration is very optimistic on Ukraine talks, White House says  The Trump administration is "very optimistic" about reaching an agreement to end the war in Ukraine, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Monday, citing good talks with Ukrainian officials that took place in Florida on Sunday.  "The administration feels very optimistic," Leavitt said. "Just yesterday ... they had very good talks with the Ukrainians in Florida." 00:07I think the administration feels very optimistic.

00:10Obviously, you've seen, Steve, that the President's entire team,

00:13including Special Envoy Whitcoff and Secretary Rubio and the Vice President

00:17and the President himself, Secretary Hegseth as well,

00:20have been working so hard on this effort,

00:23and they all really want to see this war come to an end.

00:26So just yesterday, Sunday, I believe that was yesterday,

00:30they had very good talks with the Ukrainians in Florida,

00:32and now, of course, Special Envoy Whitcoff is on his way to Russia.

00:35This is sort of the shuttle diplomacy that you've seen from this administration play out,

00:39where we speak equally with both sides.

00:41We've put points on paper.

00:42Those points have been very much refined.

00:45But as for the details, I will let the negotiators negotiate.

00:48But we do feel quite good, and we're hopeful that this war can finally come to an end.
