00:00In Indonesia, the death toll rises to almost 600 after floods and landslides in three provinces on the island of Sumatra.
00:07Flooding and landslides caused by recent torrential rains have affected the Indonesian provinces of Asset, West Sumatra and North Sumatra.
00:15According to the National Agency for Disaster Management, the death toll from the disaster so far is 593, with 468 people still missing and 2,600 injured.
00:27Meanwhile, more than 578,000 people were forced to leave their homes as 3,500 buildings were seriously damaged.
00:36In this scenario, the Indonesian president ordered the mobilization of all national resources to speed up the emergency response.
00:43Given the magnitude of the emergency, Indonesian president Prabowo Subianto personally traveled to the areas most affected or more devastated by the fluents to supervise rescue efforts on site and offer direct support to families.
