00:00We're going to start in Minnesota, where a scandal, a scandal, is engulfing Democratic Governor Tim Walls.
00:07And we have to start with acknowledging the dogged reporting of Christopher Rufo on this.
00:12He broke the story, and he's forcing the mainstream media to follow it.
00:16The situation involves fraud across multiple sectors of the Minnesota state government with taxpayer money winding up in some truly horrendous hands.
00:26It begins with the state's Medicaid Housing Stabilization Services, or HSS, which allows for Medicaid funding to be used for housing.
00:35Now, when it started in 2020, the cost of this was $2.1 million.
00:39Next year, it was $21 million.
00:41Next year, $42 million, then $74 million, and finally, a $61 million program in the first half of 2025 alone.
00:48The program was shut down on August 1st of this year due to at least 77 payments having credible allegations of fraud.
00:58After that happened on September the 18th, six Somalians in Minneapolis were indicted over this HSS fraud.
01:06Federal charges were brought by the U.S. attorney there.
01:08This was just the first round of his indictments.
01:11Now, the crimes here are severe.
01:14It wasn't just typical Medicare or Medicaid fraud.
01:16In these instances, whole entire companies were being fabricated in order to take payments and steal funds.
01:24The same day that these fraudsters were indicted, another person from the Somalian community there pleaded guilty in a case called the Feeding Our Families case.
01:35Feeding Our Families was a nonprofit primarily run by people in the Somali community in Minneapolis.
01:40They embezzled $250 million of relief hunger funds.
01:47This was one of the largest of the COVID-era fraud schemes.
01:51Just six days after this round of indictments went down, another one was served, this time for a woman named Asha Farhan Hassan.
01:59Also from Minneapolis, she was involved in a $14 million fraud against the state.
02:04Now, here's what she would do, approach families in the community and have their children registered into autism therapy services, regardless if they had autism or not.
02:15Parents who took part in that scheme were given monthly kickbacks of somewhere between $300 and $1,500.
02:21Between 2018 and 2023, autism claims to HHS in Minnesota went from $3 million to start to a whopping $400 million.
02:35Providers went from 41 providers to 328 providers in the same period.
02:41Many of these were new centers for autism treatment.
02:44So there's all this fraud to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars, all sorts of indictments.
02:50And you're probably asking yourself, where did all this money go?
02:54If only it were as simple as fancy cars and expensive jewelry, but it's not.
02:59It looks like it may have wound up in the hands of terrorists.
03:03Al-Shabaab, to be exact.
03:06That Al-Shabaab, the Al-Qaeda offshoot.
03:08So you had Somalis embezzling money from American taxpayers.
03:13The money is being sent back to Somalia, and there it's winding up in the hands of terrorists.
03:18In 2023, about $1.7 billion wound up back in Somalia of U.S. taxpayer money.
03:27What does this all mean politically?
03:28Well, for starters, Tim Walz continues to be one of the worst governors in America.
03:33Congratulations to Gavin Newsom for being off the hook for now.
03:36Now, this is truly, truly some of the worst stuff that we have ever seen out of state government.
03:43Walz turned a blind eye to all of it, and now Minnesota taxpayers are footing the bill for terrorism in the Middle East?
03:52It's more than obvious Tim Walz should, well, if he doesn't resign, at least should be ousted in 2026 when his term is up.
04:00Anyone complicit should be prosecuted, and there are serious questions about what's going on in Minneapolis.
04:07What other crimes have occurred, and what lengths have people gone to enrich themselves?
04:12A lot of questions going on in Minneapolis right now, thanks to the reporting of Christopher Ruffo.
