Tasmania's upper house is set to debate the order to approve a stadium at Macquarie Point later this week. But as D-Day draws nearer, there are still a number of MLCs who are yet to declare how they'll vote.

00:00Tasmanians have rallied for, and against, a stadium at Macquarie Point.
00:11On the street, most have an opinion.
00:13I like the idea of a team, I like the idea of a stadium, but not at Macquarie Point.
00:18There's so many things we could fix in Tasmania first.
00:21I support the stadium in principle, I think it would be a great thing for Tassie to have.
00:26I think the stadium would be fabulous, the only problem is, because we're in a little bit of debt we've gone over with things, maybe it needs to be put off.
00:33It all comes to a head this week, with the Upper House set to start debating the project on Wednesday.
00:40What we've seen here is really clear expert recommendation on this project, that it shouldn't go ahead.
00:47And I'm hoping that the Upper House heeds that advice.
00:50Independent Casey Hiskett is pro-team, and believes it's inextricably linked to the stadium.
00:55But there's an asterisk.
00:57I would only make that decision if I thought it was in the best interest of Tasmania.
01:01So that's where I'm making that decision now.
01:04To pass, the government needs Labor and at least three independents to support it.
01:09Alongside Mr Hiskett, Tania Rattray is understood to be on board, while Ruth Forrest has yet to declare either way.
01:18There's also been a sharp focus on undecided Southern independents, Bec Thomas and Dean Harris.
01:24They are doing a great job. They are scrutinising this project to the nth degree.
01:30The war in camps could know the outcome as soon as tomorrow, if the undecided MPs declare their hand ahead of Thursday's vote.
01:39I know it is.
01:41I know.
01:45I have faith in all those things.
01:47I don't think so.
01:51We need it.
