00:00First of all, how are things currently in Geneva?
00:05Not good.
00:06Okay.
00:07Not good.
00:08As far as, let's be real, there are aid that is coming in, a lot of people are helping,
00:14but people are still in bad situations.
00:17Right.
00:18You're looking at probably around 60 or 70% of the islands still without electricity
00:23and still no water.
00:25That's not going to probably be back until maybe around, from what I'm hearing,
00:29maybe around February.
00:31Wow.
00:32So no power until February.
00:33Yeah.
00:34So you're not, people won't be in Christmas with electricity.
00:36You know what I mean?
00:37So it's tough.
00:38I think, you know, they're issuing out generators and stuff like that.
00:41That eases it a little bit, but it's tough.
00:44It's not that easy, easy one.
00:46Whatever you're seeing on pictures and videos, it's 100% worse.
00:50Now, we didn't even ask you, why are you here today?
00:52We should have started with that.
00:54Well, I'm here because we're putting on a benefit concert called Jamaica Strong.
00:58Right.
00:59I'm partnering with a couple of our community leaders and a couple of media partners here,
01:07including Sirius XM, including iHeart, you know, including Odyssey Radio, you know, Amazon,
01:15a whole bunch of people coming together.
01:17Right.
01:18To literally do Jamaica Strong on the 12th of December at the UBS Arena.
01:23With all proceeds going to Jamaica?
01:25All proceeds.
01:26Well, we're trying to definitely go over a million dollars.
01:30Nice.
01:31Anything over that, we'll also donate all proceeds.
01:35But, of course, that's net of expenses.
01:38Right, right.
01:39Yeah, yeah.
01:40Pains and expenses.
01:41Expenses, right.
01:42So we're looking for it.
01:43But the main thing we're trying to do is raise their awareness.
01:44Yeah.
01:45And there's a lot of great artists, myself, Sean Paul, Kess, Chronic Law, just to name a few
01:50that's going to be on this bill.
01:52What's next?
01:53For you, for anything you have gone on?
01:56It's bittersweet, this whole thing, because I'm doing, I'm promoting a new single with
02:03Akon called Boomba to Me, Akon and Idonia.
02:06But at the same time, I have this hurricane situation and I have to be using the press to
02:13really do that.
02:14Right.
02:15So it feels bittersweet.
02:16But then I realized that part of the healing process is music.
02:18Right.
02:19When I was down there giving out some of the stuff, even though people lost everything
02:23they had, they were dancing, singing, you know, to music.
02:27So I understand that part, you know.
