00:18solo maridueña oh i thought i was gonna say your name and jacob's got thomas bertrand

00:24and we're talking all things cobra kai and lone lobos your podcast that's right

00:29which you just did a live episode of here today right yeah just got finished doing everything

00:35for the podcast i feel like we yeah we just we tried a whole bunch of new mediums uh we usually

00:39just sit down and do the pod but today we're here at the con of course so we had to do a little walk

00:44around you know what was that experience like tell me more about it overwhelming of course there's like

00:48a hundred thousand people here it must be it was it was really cute but sad there was a kid that

00:53threw up out of excitement out of excitement he got so excited he threw up jacob and i he threw up so

00:58that was definitely a highlight sholo gave him his blue beetle hat because he was like i love

01:03cobra kai and blue beetle he was like eight he's like blue beetle changed my life and sholo's like

01:07hey man i'm designing these hats this is a 101 and put it on him and i was like oh god he's gonna

01:12throw up again oh no he started crying was like his older brother's like buddy it's cool it's cool

01:18buddy you're gonna live it was really sweet it's been a great time yeah we we really like comic-con

01:22uh and it's been our first time back in a couple years yeah last time i was here was 2018

01:26was that the first time you guys were here or what's your first comic-con memory

01:30my mom is a big comic head i i started coming here like before middle school um and i came every year

01:37and then finally when we got to do cobra kai and come here for that it was like a whole other experience

01:41because i got to do a panel and you know be on the hollywood reporter and stuff like this so it's

01:47definitely a different vibe but i hope we get to come back and do more like i want to stay longer

01:51hopefully yeah we're we're here for one day and you know the first time i came was i was in high

01:58school and i came with sholo and his buddy anthony and it was so much fun just being a fan taking their

02:02scooters and then riding around san diego and so walking on the floor today it's torture because

02:08i'm like i want to go get the tamagotchis but it's fun it's super fun it's very fun to get it to

02:15to see it from this angle um not have to wait in line to get into the building is nice

02:20and we're doing promo for cobra kai season six finally out yeah now speaking of the season how

02:27does it feel that it's finally out and what has the fan response been like to the first five episodes

02:31so far it's been surprisingly positive and i don't want to say surprising just because

02:36our show feels so fun to film already that sometimes i'm like i don't know if people are gonna

02:41but everyone buys into it like it's it has this inherent sense of goofiness and unseriousness that

02:48um i think is just so perfect and i'm so glad that people are loving it this year yeah i think it's

02:53fun to see everyone is down to suspend their disbelief to they're like yeah this is a karate is life

03:00thing in the valley yeah that is it is so important people are willing to die for this you know

03:05that's super fun um it feels weird to be done the fan response i think has been really funny i'll

03:11i'll go through the comments every once in a while when i have instagram and it's just so great to see

03:15yeah exactly that's right robbie should be captain people are like no it started with miguel it should

03:23end with miguel there's too many i love the discourse and then you know there's a few people that

03:28like dimitris the sleeper hit he's gonna win it all kenny whoever but it's it's been um to get to

03:35do a show for six years it's like i don't know when we're gonna get this opportunity again so i just

03:40hope that we get to relish in the moment and really just enjoy it all you got to film some parts in

03:47spain is that right because that's where you go for the big competition yeah yeah yeah so so the

03:51sakai taikai takes place in barcelona um funny enough billy didn't know that it was actually

03:57pronounced barcelona so we get out there and people are pronouncing it like that and he's like

04:00what wait you guys are he's like what's wrong with you he's like wait um but we got to go out there

04:07really really put into perspective it was our first time filming out in public like sometimes we've

04:12filmed out on a like outdoors but it's closed off of course but this one we were just at museums

04:17with people yelling out like daniel we love you daniel and it was real real surreal um and

04:27it really i think also helps bring our show to like another cinematic level getting to travel and

04:32show off you know around the world i'm sure you probably can't tease too much about what's to come

04:37but from what you can say can you share what you're excited for fans to see in part two that's

04:41coming out in the fall i'm excited for people to see um the many more deaths to come yeah there's

04:48yeah there is bloodshed bloodshed up the wazoo if you thought this was a joke around show you're wrong

04:55this is about to be the most bonkers people find out people find out real hard oh okay i don't know

05:02what he's referring to but because if you mess around you find out that's right f around and find out

05:10you just finished filming a few months ago right part three so now you're totally done with the

05:15show when it all ended what was the emotion on set like for you just kind of confusing

05:21in the best way like oh it's over really like it was yeah just sad but also happy but it's never

05:30over with cobra kai we like we wrapped two weeks later we're doing promos two weeks later we're doing

05:35the premiere you know so we're we're getting to spend time with each other we i see jacob

05:39damn near every week for the podcast so so we're not going anywhere yeah it's my last day was a

05:45foe last day on set i got told you know this is your last day you know me and gianni doing a scene

05:50together we're dancing you know it's emotional like oh you guys are wrapped oh my god and then

05:55i get told oh actually uh we're pulling you in for second unit yeah we're gonna see your back

05:59they're like they're like we're gonna see your back so you just need to stand over there okay

06:03now you're really wrapped yeah i was like oh cool cool yeah skeleton crew i was like okay cool you

06:09know um we see each other all the time so it doesn't feel like we're gonna miss the crew the

06:14most yeah there it's not often that you have a whole crew of people who are willing to like

06:20really bend over backwards to make the show as good as it is and it's nothing it's nothing without

06:25them so i just hope that once we get to start producing our own stuff like we can we can bring

06:29them all on board that's right kevin burgh just call be like ad sound costumes bah yeah i love

06:36how the description for your podcast calls you guys on and off screen best friends and even just

06:41talking to you now it's so clear to see how close you guys are take me back to how this friendship

06:45first started it started in the cafeteria room for cobra kai i'd never i didn't even know jacob

06:50existed jacob didn't know i existed although we were around the same age i guess we just were going

06:56out for the different mexican roles yeah you were going for one half of mexican i was going for the

07:00other half you're going for the serious ones i was going for the serious yeah that's right um but

07:06we met and instantly kind of just clicked i was just learning to get to drive and jacob had already

07:11had his license oh yeah i got my first car during the first season so i just remember um playing

07:17pokemon go driving to the wee hours of the night just like going everywhere um and we didn't we never

07:25look back pokemon go and what was that spider-man game yeah yeah just spider-man yeah spider-man we

07:31just just would stay up so late where's the blue beetle game bro i'm waiting i would have fly around

07:37in my little backpack that's right that's right and since we're at comic-con we're going to do a

07:41little rapid fire round with the wolverine bucket question bucket hugh jackman so we'll take turns

07:51you pull a question first and you both answer it and we'll just go back and forth a few times

07:55provocative okay i'm gonna i'm picking yours okay ask me a question what's the best sci-fi moment in any

08:06wait what's the best moment in any sci-fi movie or tv show it's got to be the alien coming out of the

08:12stomach in alien oh like okay just that movie already i just think so iconic sci-fi that movie

08:20um and seeing yeah like seeing it below the skin i don't know how they did that i mean prosthetics

08:27it must have been like it must have been an animatronic or something but that that's sci-fi

08:31what about you what's your sci-fi moment do it from there oh man so what's your um what's your sci-fi

08:43moment jacob um i like in interstellar when um he's banging in the fourth dimension oh yeah he's like

12:03any denzel ip that's his franchise flight yeah denzel washington cinematic universe the new gladiator

12:09it's the newest addition to that dude i'm so excited for that movie i love the old one as a kid

12:16and the fact that denzel's in it is so cool oh so you want to be the gladiator

12:49king kong sorry uh any denzel denzel washington what um if i could cosplay as just any character

12:59we'll make it we'll make it more bright this is denzel on it i don't think it did

13:07gladiator okay maybe yeah okay the new movie i didn't prepare to answer these questions i've got

13:13to be honest but maybe like i've never done a harley quinn costume and i always kind of wanted to

13:17pull that off it's a little stereotypical right what it also feels like a classic because she's

13:21good like she's cool it is but i just like a lot of people do it you know it was a very popular

13:25halloween costume at one point for sure but at the same time it also feels like a good it's a classic

13:30i'd call it entry level but you can also make it your own that's so true you could do the different

13:35i had a friend do like birds of prey harley quinn once in the gold overalls so you're totally right

13:40all right you just need that big hammer denzel cosplay go um i want to be

13:45uh i want to be that movie that he did with um uh jared leto and oh uh you know i'm talking

13:53about little things all the little things or something what's the guy from three little

13:56things yeah that guy robbie malik robbie malik dude that was the first one that came to my head

14:01um i want to be him in the equalizer three oh true

14:08dude he's just like going through italy and he's like yo leave let my people be

14:14that's a vibe this has been show the money we're getting kicked out uh you guys just have more

14:21interviews to do more comic-con stuff to do i didn't realize that it would be so i should have

14:25known that putting the hand in the wolverine mouth would be you know as weird as i guess you might

14:30imagine i think they that's the goal yeah i think they i think they wanted it to be i can just picture
