Transcript
00:00Come on, vamanos! Get your backpacks and maps ready. Dora the Explorer is headed to the big screen
00:05for a live-action movie. And despite Swiper's best efforts to swipe the details, they're being
00:10kept under wraps. But we do know the film is set to center on Dora, but not as a seven-year-old
00:15like on the Nickelodeon series. Instead, Dora is all or mostly grown up as a teenager who moves
00:21to the city to live with her cousin, Diego. No release date has been set yet, but the studio is
00:26reportedly excited about Dora and eyeing a 2019 premiere. Nick Stoller, the writer-director behind
00:32films including The Muppets and Neighbors, has been brought on board to work on the script.
00:36The Paramount movie will be produced by Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes partners Andrew Form
00:41and Brad Fuller. Now, as you probably already know, Dora the Explorer was a massive hit series
00:46for Nickelodeon, running from 2000 to 2014 with 172 episodes aired. It centered on a young American
00:54Latina and her monkey, Boots. They faced riddles and characters like a thieving fox as they went on
00:59quests. Wait, that sounds like Swiper. That sneaky fox is always trying to swipe our stuff. If you see
01:05Swiper, yell, Swiper. You see Swiper? Where? Okay, we have to yell, Swiper, no swiping.
01:12Swiper, no swiping. Swiper, no swiping. Swiper, no swiping.
01:16Swiping. Oh, man.
