Amy Poehler chats with THR on the 'Inside Out 2' purple carpet and shares what she thinks Pixar could do with the 'Inside Out' franchise. Plus, she explains how her character Joy brings joy into her life.
00:00When we spoke at the Junket over the weekend, we talked about the importance of celebration when it comes to maintaining your joy.
00:05How does it feel to celebrate the movie here tonight?
00:08It's pretty awesome. I was just saying when I walked into the carpet, I tried to do what joy would do and just kind of like, kind of think about the best part.
00:17And I think the best part is when the lights go down and this movie starts.
00:23I really can't wait to watch it in a theater with people. I haven't yet.
00:27So I just can't wait for people to see it.
00:30It seems like this is the sort of thing that we could check in with Riley at different stages in her life.
00:35There could be a lot of Inside Out sequels.
00:36What's another era of Riley's life that you think could be fun to explore, what's going on inside her head?
00:41Anything I think about Pixar would do a much better and more imaginative version.
00:45But I feel like there's a world where, you know, like graduating and going out into the world is a big deal.
00:53A lot of young people feel that way.
00:55There's romantic love, which we have not, like, really gotten into.
01:00Like, what does it feel like to be in love for the first time?
01:02But also, honestly, with Pixar, we could go backwards.
01:05I don't know.
01:06They could turn into babies.
01:07I don't know.
01:08Wherever they do, I hope I get to be part of it.
01:12How has voicing joy brought you joy in your life?
01:15It's actually given me an incredible gift.
01:19To be in a film like this means a lot.
01:22You know, it's very hard to be in something that is really good, that means something and says something, and that a lot of people see.
