The same year that male cheerleaders joined the NFL for the first time, they'll be on the sidelines at the biggest game of the year.

00:00The NFL made strides on Sunday night by having male cheerleaders perform for the
00:05very first time in Super Bowl history. The two Los Angeles Rams cheerleaders
00:09Napoleon Ginnies and Quentin Perrone were the first male cheerleaders to perform
00:14during the big game in the NFL's 99-year history. When the Rams advanced to
00:192019's big game last week, Perrone tweeted out a celebratory photo of him and
00:24Ginnies saying,
00:24Hey Napoleon, you think Atlanta is ready for us? The two cheerleaders, along with
00:29Jesse Hernandez of the New Orleans Saints, already made history at the beginning of
00:33the season when they became the first male cheerleaders in the NFL. Although other
00:38teams like the Colts and the Ravens have incorporated what they call stuntmen before,
00:42with the Ravens stuntmen even performing at Super Bowl XLVII, but according to USA Today,
00:48Hernandez, Ginnies and Perrone are the first to dance alongside their female
00:52teammates throughout the season. And in the case of the latter two, the first to do so
00:57at the Super Bowl. The two men previously spoke to CBS News with Ginnies saying,
01:01especially the world of entertainment isn't a place of being open and if you can do the
01:05job, why not? Perrone added,
01:07I was like, if we're going to be here, we need to make a statement, not just stand in the
01:11shadows and get intimidated.
01:13The men were among the 300 people who auditioned for the Rams cheerleading squad last March.
