00:00But as a dancer, you always know to dance every performance like it's your last.
00:03So I think knowing like when your season comes to an end and you've put everything behind it and you're ready to retire, it's a good time to go.
00:14Yeah, our blue and gold. So this was our throwback colors.
00:20Paying like homage to the vintage colors of the Rams.
00:24I don't know. It feels really cool to know that this is like the first male cheerleader uniform.
00:30Especially since it went to the Super Bowl, which was another first for us.
00:33And I don't know. It's interesting to see the hate comments.
00:37It's kind of like a copy and paste from everything that was said to us in 2018.
00:42There's no new material, so it's a little boring to read.
00:44But other than that, I just think it's due to location.
00:48Certain areas in the U.S. feel like they're separate and the rest of the world is crazy.
00:53So you don't think that in your hometown, in your state, in your city that change will happen, you know, in that way.
01:00And it's also interesting that they're not criticizing any of the males on their talent.
01:07They're not saying that they're not qualified for the job or they're below par or anything like that.
01:13They're questioning why this is happening and they're going after their sexual orientation or if they're not mask presenting.
01:22So I think it's a different problem of just homophobia within any type of fandom that's out there.
01:29Who didn't tell me she was auditioning.
01:31I just ran into her into the parking lot during auditions.
01:37Preseason.
01:41Right here.
01:42So that was like in 2018?
01:50Yes, this is 2018.
02:05And it was so cold.
02:09Was it like in February?
02:11Yes.
02:12Super Bowl is always in February.
02:13February.
02:14So it's cold.
02:15Yeah.
02:16I think it's also just hyper-masculinity is so fragile and football being a very masculine sport, you know, if anything different is in their peripheral, in their orbit, they freak out.
02:41No, no, no.
02:42We can't.
02:43No, no, no, no.
02:44No, no, no, no.
02:45We can't.
02:46It's the outside world until now.
02:47We can't get everything.
02:48We can't hit anybody.
02:49But I think it's an answer.
02:50We can't hit anybody or whatever you want this —
02:51No, no.
02:52Let's go to our success.
02:54No, no, no, no, no, no.
02:55Yes.
02:56We can't hit anybody.
02:57No, no, no.
02:58It's a miracle.
02:59No.
03:00No, no no, no, no.
03:02No, no.
03:03No, no, no.
03:04No, yes.
03:05No, no, no.
03:06Take into consideration location because we are in L.A., entertainment capital, everyone's a dancer, everyone does fashion and makeup and everything.
03:15So it's quite normal to see men and women doing everything.
03:21So, yeah, I mean, internationally and internationally we had backlash.
03:28But as far as it being like in L.A. and in our face like that, it wasn't it wasn't as big as it is right now in Minnesota.
03:39Trying to find my page.
03:45So much.
03:47There we go.
03:51But back then it was like a full feature about like you wearing makeup, which is amazing to see how quickly
03:58and how far we've come.
04:00The Rams never had a no males policy.
04:03Males can always audition to be on the team.
04:05Just no one ever showed up.
04:06So it was just a matter of time.
04:08So to be a part of that change in our industry, I'm very proud to be a part of it.
04:14Yeah, it's amazing.
04:17I wouldn't have auditioned for Rams if I wasn't during the show because this is how I learned about my Ram audition.
04:24Of course, I think anytime you have anyone being the first in anything, it's going to add some sort of change, a new perspective.
04:33And I think that's the most important part of why it was an honor, but also necessary for us to be on the cheer team,
04:42especially during that time, because it just gives inspiration, but not only inspiration, but it gives someone else representation.
04:52You get to see yourself in a space that you never imagined you could be, whether that's representation on any type of media,
05:00in the movies, on a sports team, in a workplace, a work environment.
05:05So definitely an inspired change.
05:08And I think it did question other organizations to look within and say, do we stand for inclusion as well?
05:15And if so, are we going to welcome male dancers and male cheerleaders onto our team?
05:19I don't know, it's a great sense of pride to have so many brothers across the nation dancing.
05:43And or just to inspire other people to go for their dreams outside of dancing,
05:47because I think inspiration is just inspiration.
05:50It exceeds dance.
