Transcript
00:00I feel like the first Sonic kind of feels like yesterday, and here we are at the third.
00:03I just got a thing that was like six years ago that we were filming, and I was like,
00:08God, it feels wild, you know? It feels wild. But I think that's always how it is.
00:12I feel like with Shadow, you guys are getting invaded at this point.
00:16There's almost more hedgehogs than there are principal actors.
00:22Lots of tennis balls.
00:24Yes, lots of tennis balls. Red, yellow, blue, black, we're getting them all.
00:27How did you react when you found out that Keanu Reeves was going to be doing the voice of Sean?
00:31I was psyched. Are you kidding? I'm an old-school, 80s Keanu head, so it meant a huge amount to me.
00:38I'm excited to meet him, and it was great.
00:41How do you describe how Shadow comes in and shakes things up for you guys?
00:44Shadow's a little darker than we're used to and a little more dangerous, so I think it's fun.
00:53Especially with Knuckles and Shadow, there's a fun dichotomy.
00:56But, I mean, talking about the first film, I mean, I keep saying this to people,
01:00but I'm like, I kind of feel bad that we were a little rough on Ugly Sonic.
01:03We should have trusted the process a little more. Now we're here.
01:06I mean, how has this franchise kind of defied expectations?
01:09I think it just shows that, like, you never know what kind of the spirit of a project will be.
01:17And I think that it's very easy to be cynical about anything.
01:22And so they're always, anytime such a big property is going to be put out, it's easy to be like, oh, that's not going to be good.
01:29But there's such a strong spirit here, and it's so fun and well-acted.
01:33It's just really, truly a joy. You know what I mean?
01:36Last thing, what was your favorite movie or performance of the year?
01:39I know the holidays is kind of when we buckle down and watch everything.
01:41My favorite movie or performance of the year.
01:45I'm still in, like, self-promotion mode until, like, so I would say that if you haven't watched on Peacock,
01:53Mr. Throwback, Steph Curry gives a great performance and should be nominated for Best Supporting Actor.
01:59Yes.
01:59Yeah.
01:59Yes.
