00:04What do you think it is?
00:05No idea.
00:09Gerard Butler and Morena Baccarin are set to return for a sequel to their 2020 film,
00:14Greenland. Butler will reprise his role as structural engineer John Garrity,
00:17alongside co-star Baccarin as Allison Garrity. The sequel will once again follow the Garrity
00:22family, whose spoiler alerts survive a near-extinction level event when an interstellar
00:26comet hits the earth. The greatest chance of survival are the bunkers in Greenland.
00:33We're gonna go. Gotta go now. Okay. This time around, the family must leave the safety of
00:38the Greenland bunker and embark on a perilous journey across the decimated frozen wasteland
00:43of Europe to find a new home. Ahead of the release of the first film, Butler and Baccarin told the
00:47Hollywood Reporter what made them want to be a part of Greenland. The spectacle and the big scope and
00:52the idea, but looked at it completely through the lens of a family. I really loved that Allison
00:59was not a pushover, that she wasn't a weak person. She was vulnerable, but she was a fighter and she
01:06wasn't just waiting around for John to rescue her and figure out what to do. And, you know, that's rare
01:12these days to read an action movie where the female is right next to the guy and, you know, just fighting
01:19along with them. Director Rick Romanois will return to helm the Greenland sequel, which will shoot in 2022.
